I’m quite hooked on this new summer reality series, airing on Tuesdays 10 PM ET on NBC. Starring J-Lo, Derek Hough, & Ne-Yo as judges with host Jenna Dewan Tatum. Dancers from all over the world are competing for a million dollar prize. Category distinctions are Junior, Upper, & Team. Solos, duos, and groups of all ages compete here.
I’m guessing that at some point in the season, the judges will mentor the finalists so each will have a stake in the winner like “The Voice.” It’s somewhat suspect that there are clear ringers, though the producers are mostly showing the qualifying performances only. When “professional” groups are mixed in with the amateurs, like Le Twins who have danced for Beyoncé and Missy Elliott and that contemporary duo from the Justin Bieber video, I wonder how any nobodies from “Middletown, USA” have a prayer of winning the grand prize. It’s clear what kind of winner gets the show more viewers and press, so maybe it’s understandable.
Anyways, two episodes have already aired for the qualifying rounds with more to come before the battle rounds and eliminations. The show is slickly produced with added sob stories for mass relatability, emotional resonance, and viewer manipulation.
Who’s watching this?

I have only seen the first episode and its ok so far . I wonder are the teams or the “bigger” performance going to have an advantage when it come to winning. Do we get to vote at the end ?

The minute I heard Supercrew and Jabowoceez were going to be on I immediately knew I would watch lol. So far I like the show.June 11, 2017 at 6:43 pm #1202117659
First episode wasn’t bad. It’s an ok show. The scoring is annoying though, they could’ve just used a scale of 1 to 5, or stars or whatever, instead they have this shady scoring 20 or 19…or 17 for this or that, then an average of 80 something, or 90 something. Not good or believable at all.
It’s also too similar to The Voice which might make me get over the show real quick. This is also very sad for Jenna Dewan (a female Carson Daly since those scenes look identical to The Voice) who is a pro dancer, actress and a celebrity, enough to qualify her for an actual judge, like when Nicole Sherzinger was going to be a host of a singing competition while Paula Abdul was right there judging and in a future season Britney Spears would also be a judge.June 13, 2017 at 9:03 am #1202119635

Les Twins were incredible. These young men do more than tell a story. Larry and Laurent bring the audience right along with them to feel what they are portraying. Their connectivity is powerful. True artists!July 31, 2017 at 8:07 am #1202170520
See i dont love them , i was bummed to see the little kid go hone Fiction. I love Keoni and Mari … I want them to win the whole show….But i do have to say the show as a whole is rather boring and bogged down with alot of filler.

World of dance means just that. If you are excellent known or unknown it’s the worlds dance stage. If you have it you have it. We want the best to represent the world. If you happen to dance for Beyonce or who ever. ..your mother. We want the best. No one gets excluded because of the opportunities they happen to knock doors down to have. The best comes from those who are gifted as well as have true passion to show case their God given giftAugust 2, 2017 at 6:46 pm #1202173016
Does anyone else feel like the injury was staged? Especially when he hops back to his wheelchair at the end. Wasn’t that the leg he supposedly injured?August 2, 2017 at 6:47 pm #1202173019
Am I the only one who feels like that injury was staged? What keg did he hop back to his wheelchair on? What leg did he initially hurt???August 2, 2017 at 7:03 pm #1202173029
Totally agree…I feel duped and insulted. If they wanted to use a wheelchaor, just go ahead and do it. Don’t insult your audience by faking an injury. There’s been a couple of times where fixing and staging has disappointed me. I love J-Lo and I want to see her keep her integrity in this reality show. She is one of my heroes. But I need a little more real in my reality.August 2, 2017 at 9:25 pm #1202173124
Very disappointing keone and Mari should have won not watching the show any more some of the judges have partial eyes.
