There are no nominees.July 23, 2014 at 9:16 am #325229
I just died.July 23, 2014 at 9:31 am #325230
This is priceless. So much space is wasted in the main forums by people’s personal awards here. There already is a Gold Derby Awards and Fantasy Awards, all which we can view already.July 23, 2014 at 9:34 am #325231
Bravo.July 23, 2014 at 9:38 am #325232
I’m not sure if I like these awards… too many snubs.July 23, 2014 at 10:19 am #325233
Yet, Meryl Streep will probably win againJuly 23, 2014 at 10:46 am #325234
Oh common, this thread does deserve nominees. Just include those who have their own awards thread and we’ll pick from there the…”winner”? Worst Awards Thread, just one category.
You’re going to make some enemies here, I see you’re sort of new, because it’s been going on FOREVER, years and years, and it’s been ANNOYING forever. They created the dream ballot and other stuff on everybody’s profiles, these people should use them and leave the threads alone.July 23, 2014 at 11:46 am #325235
If these threads are so annoying to you, then don’t open them up. Ignore them and visit the other hundreds of topics available instead. It takes a lot of time and effort to do personal awards, and while that’s certainly not a reason for you to appreciate them, it’s also no reason to shit all over the effort these people make in creating them. They add to what an awards forum should be about in my view, and they should stay (at least the ones that are personalized with pictures and analyses; filling out rote ballots aren’t the same thing).July 23, 2014 at 12:22 pm #325236
Also, many of our contenders aren’t in the predictions centre (the ones from foreign shows for example).
It can’t be THAT much of a pain to see these threads though – I actually find what many people post pretty interesting.July 23, 2014 at 2:55 pm #325238
The title and the first post of this thread are hilarious, but honestly it’s not that bad. Let people have fun and contribute if they want. We don’t have to read everything and we might even learn a few things.
If you want something truly annoying, think of the time when Gold Derby was part of The Envelope. There were so many “personal awards” threads, it was truly overwhelming and frustrating.July 23, 2014 at 5:40 pm #325239
I guess I’m in the minority that likes the Personal awards. I especially like when they give reasons for their picks, because it is the best way to find out about shows/films to watch. As long as they have watched a significant amount of shows/films, then it is fine. I definitely couldn’t make an awards for TV, simply because I don’t watch enough shows. I would say you need to have watched the most recent season of at least 20 shows (preferably 10 drama, 10 comedy) to make really interesting personal awards.July 23, 2014 at 9:08 pm #325240
LOL this thread is the best un-personal awards
