There’s always things to nitpick, but compared to the writing nods this is a solid set. However, it’s utter bull that Louie couldn’t string a directing nod.January 10, 2012 at 3:24 pm #236124
The comedy lineup is blah, but the drama list is perfect!
WOW @ the Mildred Pierce snub though! It may have not been that engaging from the writing and the paint by numbers acting, but the technicals were a feat.January 10, 2012 at 3:28 pm #236125
The Divorce? Really? Duckling or Remedial Chaos Theory should have that slot.January 10, 2012 at 3:32 pm #236126
“Palestiniain Chicken” saved that category. Otherwise, it would have been a complete wash.January 10, 2012 at 4:37 pm #236127
What about “Double-Edged Sword”?
“The Divorce” is solid.
Wish someone would acknowledge Alan Taylor over Tim Van Patten. Some of the pilot was not even him.
Not the best choice for Breaking Bad, but a fine one.January 10, 2012 at 6:00 pm #236128
Where the hell is remedial chaos theory?
Happy for Palestinan Chicken and face off.January 10, 2012 at 6:38 pm #236129
I am shocked that Boardwalk Empire got snubbed. Maybe this series is a one year thing with the Emmys (at least in Best Drama Series) as this show was supposed to be a lock with this group.
The comedy category could have been better but the drama category was pretty solid. I love the mentions for Breaking Bad and Homeland. Hopefully they repeat at the Emmys.January 10, 2012 at 7:45 pm #236130
I think the winners will be “Face Off” and “Palestinan Chicken”.January 10, 2012 at 7:52 pm #236132
Also, Happy for Vince Gilligan but this will only lead to “Face off” being nominated over “Crawl Space” which is stupid.January 10, 2012 at 7:54 pm #236133
I think Cuesta (Homeland “Pilot”) or Van Patten (“Winter is Coming) and Spiller (“Express Christmas”) or Weide (“Palestinian Chicken”) will win.January 10, 2012 at 11:36 pm #236134
Nothing for “Mildred Pierce” or “Downton Abbey”? Yikes. Kind of surprised that “Five” was remembered. Drama is pilot-heavy, but I guess that’s okay. Nothing for “Boardwalk Empire” and last year’s winner? Interesting. Comedy could have been better, but any love for “Palestinian Chicken” redeems the category.January 11, 2012 at 6:01 am #236135
Homeland and Curb (for Palestinian Chicken) will win. Anything else winning would be a travesty.January 11, 2012 at 6:06 am #236136

Also, Community. Even on their off episodes the episodes are directed superbly.[/quote]
Sure, but I’m done expecting anyone to take notice of Community.
