Last year the Comedy Awards failed to nominate two of the best comedic performances currently airing on television. This year they didn’t forget about Amy Poehler, but there is still one major omission: Jim Parsons continues to deliver the laughs on “The Big Bang Theory”. In the last few months, he’s been snubbed by the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards and the Comedy Awards. Now I really hope he wins his third Emmy.

Why does everyone keep giving “Saturday Night Live” writing nominations? The Emmys and the Writers Guild also continually recognize this aspect of the show.

WTF! Community gets snubbed again, ain’t this a bitch. Even for The Comedy Awards, the funniest show on TV still gets snubbed I mean how can they even think of best directing, writing, ensemble, and overall comedy series and not see Community going strong right there? I call some sorta of embargo, there’s no other explanation. Well, at least I hope Donald Glover wins Viewer’s Choice Breakout Performer of the Year. I’m very happy for Parks and Recreation getting some love. Dissapointed of the snub of Nick Offerman though. And what’s with the snubs of Its Always Sunny In Philidelpha. Charlie Day, The Big Bang Theory, & Jim Parsons. And while it’s nice to see some recognition for the good, somewhat low-profile Happy Endings, it’s just inconceivable that a comedy awards that wants to be taken seriously and to create any momentum gets any nominations for Sofia Vergara. I mean, she is stunning, but represents just the opposite of any sort of acting, and mostly acting funny. PS. They Need to add Supporting Actor & Actress categories.

The 2012 Comedy Awards Winners Predictions:

Yeah for a show with just one genre, they really can’t justify not having supporting categories.

Last year I thought it was a good idea to have the awards and then they gave Best Actor to Zach Galifianakis, not for Due Date (totally deserved) but for Dinner for Schmucks, such a bad movie and such a small, small role. I lost all respect right there. But…

…this year they nominated Happy Endings. I don’t care if this is just a tiny, new awards show, any recognition for one of the best comedies out there is welcome.

I agree that the SNL writing nomination is ridiculous for this and any awards show, same for Sofia Vergara, it’s just ridiculous that with just one female category, they give her a nomination leaving so many other lead and supporting actresses off the list.

And how is Donald Glover a breakout for the second and third season of show that hasn’t been under the radar or anything before this elegibility period? Whatever, at least Community got something.

It isn’t just for the show… Donald Glover is nominated for his first one hour special of stand up, a rap album that is an underground hit(and seriously really fucking good), and the show.

Jason Sudekis has been on SNL for a long time now as well.  But now he is doing a lot of movies that are good to great.

The only thing they appear to have got wrong was actor and writing. Should have been a Louie CK sweep in all categories.

Prettymuch nailed with the exception of Ty Burrell winning over CK. Both Louie and Parks deserved writing more than 30 Rock but I’ll let it slide.

Finally someone gets it right.. or atleast 90% of it. I actually think Ty Burrell deserve his win over C.K, but Louie should’ve won writing

This is a rare moment: An actual awards show nailing almost all the winners that were most deserving not because of any bias whatsoever. Imagine the Emmys doing that for once……

Watching the ceremony. This is actually really well produced and well made. Some of the best acceptance speeches I’ve ever seen and a very good band too. However, the announcer is almost as bad as the one from the 2011 emmy awards and the annual SAG awards. They need to get John Hodgeman back.
