You can now officially start voting for the 2012 Gold Derby TV Awards nominations. Rank your top 6 candidates in 26 different categories by the end of July. Nominees will then be announced on August 1.

    http://www.goldderby.com/votes/index/55

Feel free to campaign for a few of your favorites in this thread, but keep it limited to just a few.

Obviously, we could not include every possible candidate, so you will probably have some favorites that just will not be on these lists. In many cases, there are at least 25-50 candidates per category, so you can certainly find 6 worthy contenders in each. However, you do not have to vote for a complete slate if you only want to select 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 contenders in each category.

Here are the 26 categories available for voting…

Drama Series, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Guest Actor, Guest Actress

Comedy Series, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Guest Actor, Guest Actress

Movie/Mini, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress

Variety Series, Variety Performer (we took these people out of the comedy categories and added a few more)

    Reality/Competition Series, Reality Host

    Breakthrough Performer of the Year
    Performer of the Year
    Ensemble of the Year

What? no Writing, Directing or Episode categories?   In any case I’ll still be voting.    I understand the complications and work that including those categories would entail and respect the work being done.

Nice. Thanks for setting this up. For sure there must be some choices for everyone to choose from with so many candidates.

I do hope that you haven’t been overexerting yourself though. We want you to have a speedy, full recovery.

Thanks for the good thoughts. 99% of this was finished a couple of weeks ago. We are now launching it to the public for voting.

I just had to vote with my gut and vote for those I feel are truly “The Best”… Sometimes that means “possessing a clear quality”, other times it simply means “that which I enjoy the most.”

Some FYCS, but not a lot:

—-Taran Killam, oftentimes the only reason to watch SNL (Breakthrough Performance)

—–The late Kathryn Joosten (Supp. Actress-Comedy)

—–GIRLS and VEEP in all applicable categories…

This, without question, is the year Amy Poehler deserves to win an acting award for Parks and Rec.

She’s paid her dues and it’s time. If it doesn’t happen now, it won’t ever happen. She acted her face off this season. (and the previous season…and the one before that…and also on SNL)

    It needs to happen.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus can win next year, okay?
