    Just FYI…

Downton Abbey is moving into the Drama categories.

Political Animals will be aiming for the Movie/Mini categories.

No word yet on American Horror Story, Smash (musical?), or Nashville (musical?).

Are there any other categories you would like for us to ask the networks about??

Actor Drama: Cranston or Lewis. They obviously liked Homeland a lot, but they haven’t rewarded Cranston yet and they tend to have a revolving door of winners here.
Actress Drama: I wish Stowe would go from nominee to winner here, but that’s unlikely. Or I wish Moss would win, but she doesn’t have the screentime. I’m going with Britton. No wait…Lange.
Actor Comedy: Perry makes sense. They went with LeBlanc in a less buzzy show last time though LeBlanc had 3 previous noms.
Actress Comedy: Supposedly New Girl’s improved, but Deschanel’s quirky single girl thing buzz will be partially taken by the show hers leads into, The Mindy Project. So…JLD, who hasn’t won this category.
    Julianne Moore for Mini Actress.
2-time loser Sofia Vergara for Supporting Actress.
Modern Family, Game of Thrones for Series. X-Files won here 3 times and they recently nominated genre fare like American Horror Story and The Walking Dead over, say, Good Wife (last year) or Breaking Bad (ever).

Shame about Political Animals being put in movie/mini-series categories. What were they thinking in USA network? Sigourney Weaver can kiss goodbye her awards. Her only prize will be nominations and that’s it. Shame shame shame.

A strong year for the HFPA, especially when there are many big names to possibly award. Supporting Actress is basically a tribute to the big names! I didn’t put in Dustin Hoffman, but every year there is one category at the globes that takes extra nominees, either Drama Actor, Comedy Actress or Best Director.

“The Hour” and “Luther” haven’t aired any new episodes yet. Are they scheduled to premiere by the end of the year?

If you are on a comedy or drama series, you have to appear in at least six episodes to be eligible. Does this disqualify Jane Fonda?

The Hour is definitely returning on November 28th and I thought that Luther was scheduled to return by the end of the year as well, although I don’t see anything scheduled yet. The Globes have an affinity for BBC America for some time now, so I am curious about Copper’s eligiblity as well.

I hope Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell finally get nominated, but I know it’s not happening.

I’m surprised they haven’t nominated Betty White (legend, newfound love and exposure) or Christina Hendricks (young, sexy, lots of media coverage).

The Golden Globes often have “unique” choices in the Drama Actress category. They could nominate Kerry Washington (“Scandal”), Emmy Rossum (“Shameless”) or even Jennifer Love Hewiit (“The Client List”).

In Comedy Series, “Modern Family” is a lock and then anything can happen.

In Drama Series, it feels like five shows are really strong. “Homeland”, “Downton Abbey”, “Game of Thrones”, “Boardwalk Empire” and “Mad Men”.

Early word on “Nashville” is that it will be in the drama categories.

If ABC changes their decision, we will let you know.

Still no answer yet on “AHS” or “Smash”.
