I know it’s early but it’s interesting to see which new contenders will break through in the 2015 Globes. Am I the only one who think that TD and OITNB will shine at the Globes?

Viola Davis could finally win her first GG with How to Get Away with Murder. GG loves to award an actress from a hot new show, provided that her show becomes a hit as expected and has decent enough reviews.

Clive Owen is a big name that could get in for The Knick. The Emmys may not embrace a show from Cinemax, but it shouldn’t be a problem for GG.

Bill Murray and Frances McDormand for Olive Kitteridge look like contenders in miniseries categories. McDormand could finally win her first (individual) GG.

This time there’s no way Maslany is gonna lose that shitty piece of crap, I mean Golden Globe.

Unless those star-fuckers will go for Viola Davis to make up for robbing her (because Meryl Streep so needed that 100th Globe).

I think the majority of the nominations are going to be for the hot new shows. Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer are probably going to contend for their new shows. Can “Better Call Saul” be in the running since it’s premiering in January? I wouldn’t be surprised if Justin Theroux gets nominated for “The Leftovers” because of his current relationship with Jennifer Aniston.

I remember last year I was extremely confident that either Russell or Farmiga would WIN…and they got weirdly snubbed (they fitted the profile perfectly). What does everyone think about their chances to nominate one of them, or both, for their second seasons???

Russell might have a better chance because of the ongoing critical acclaim, and if it shows anywhere near the emmys. Farmiga on the other hand, might not be on their radar, but I still don´t get why they wouldn´t get her in, or last year….

Question: Do the globes allow for category changes, or you are stuck to the one you picked in your first year like the emmys. In other words, is OITNB gonna stay in drama or move to comedy. Either way, it still has a great chance to get in both categories for series and actress…

Since Better Call Saul will not air during 2014, it won’t be eligible for next year’s GG.

I’m curious as to how OITNB will be placed this time. I guess it will follow Emmy and compete in comedy. AHS was nominated as a drama series in its first season before moving to miniseries in the following years.

“The Knick” starring Clive Owen is a drama series, not miniseries. It has already been picked up for second season.

The thought of the Leftovers being nominated for best drama is really cringeworthy. Then again this is the Golden Globes so something stupid like that happens.

Well first of all everybody should remember the lesson we all learned last year and yesterday with Robin Williams and Michael J Fox. So let’s not exaggerate when it comes to Davis and Spencer. I also doubt anybody was predicting Robin Wright instead of Washington, Schilling and Maslany (clear vote splitting there) so again, let’s not go right ahead and predict the most obvious choice.

I also think you all need to wait for the category placement of True Detective. The might still go miniseries at the Globes.

And I agree that Justin Theroux has to be in the mix, not for The Leftovers, but as best Leading Actor in a Hollywood Relationship so they can get Jennifer Aniston there. Let’s not be that foolish and pretend that they won’t drool over Angelina being there for Unwhateverable, that film everybody thinks will win everything and that Brad Pitt won’t be there for The Normal Heart, Fury and whatever else he has going on. So yeah, Justin Theroux is probably in.

I think “True Detective” will be placed in the drama categories. This is what HBO wants and the Golden Globes won’t go against the wishes of a powerful network they like so much.

The real question is what happens with “Orange Is the New Black”. Netflix wants it in comedy, but the Globes have already nominated Taylor Schilling’s performance in drama. I know shows have moved from miniseries to drama (“Downton Abbey”) and vice versa (“American Horror Story”) which is silly but this is a different situation. Moving from drama to comedy would be ridiculous, especially for a show with such a high profile. The “Shameless” move at the Emmys has received criticism and that show has less exposure. The Golden Globes don’t really need more blows to their credibility.

Also, there is precedent. They kept “Moonlighting” in the comedy categories even when it became a force at the Emmys in the drama field, so they don’t always have to match the Emmys.

I think Trip to Bountiful is likely to get in for Best Movie or Miniseries based on its history with Horton Foote.
