Robin Williams would be a sentimental favorite for Comedy Actor for “The Crazy Ones”. Actors loved him. I can see many people voting for him.

Comedy Ensemble has four extremely strong contenders. “Modern Family”, “The Big Bang Theory”, “Veep” and “Orange Is the New Black” are getting nominated but what about the fifth spot? “Silicon Valley” is too new and small, “Girls” and “Parks and Recreation” haven’t really been embraced here. Maybe “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” has a shot or “Nurse Jackie” comes back after an one-year absence?

Would “Mad Men” and Jon Hamm get in after being dropped last year?

The Globes may put “True Detective” in miniseries because they can change a show’s placement, but the SAG Awards mostly accept where shows are submitted in the entry process. HBO obviously considers it a drama series, so they will submit it in this field and Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson would get in Drama Actor. The show has so much buzz, it could even get in Drama Ensemble even though it didn’t really have a strong ensemble. Two huge male performances and a solid supporting female performance. This would be reminiscent of last year’s nomination for “Dallas Buyers Club”.

FX should think about submitting “Fargo” as a drama series here because it has a very good chance for Drama Ensemble. Then again, it would be more difficult to get 3 nominations for individual cast members (Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Allison Tolman would have an easier time in the miniseries/ tv movie field).

If you ask me I would finally love to see someone else on the list from AHS next to Lange. She’s not the only good performer in the show.

Also – please give Melissa McCarthy a nomination. I mean Mike and Molly is a terrible show and is still running for one single reason: the brilliant McCarthy. It’s a huge thing. Reward it!

I disagree about Mike & Molly being a terrible show.  I actually find it laugh out loud funny sometimes and really like the supporting characters.   Melissa McCarthy is definitely deserving of a nomination.

I wonder if someone like Aduba, Mulgrew or Toussaint could join Schilling in actress. I especially would look out for Toussaint since she was the standout of season 2 and if she is have a big role in the upcoming Selma I could see her get nominated. I think Bowen might be done and Poehler has only been nominated once so I’m not confident in her.

I think Orange is an early frontrunner for Comedy Ensemble and I do not see how they could loose!

Looking at the potential nominees in the category, Julia Roberts could actually win.

Many younger voters might not be familiar with Cicely Tyson, so this could affect her status as the sentimental favorite. Starpower usually plays a role in the miniseries/tv movie categories at the SAG Awards because thousands of people vote and a small percentage has actually seen the nominated work.

I don’t see how Roberts win SAG. I think either Gyllenhaal or McDormand are winning SAG and they always have a track record over the years in the TV movie’miniseries and film caste glories of not really rewarding actors multiple times. Gyllenhaal and Tyson have never won SAG individually so I see either of them winning and while Tyson may have not won the emmy actors will surely respond more to her and they love rewarding veterans.

Maggie Gyllenhaal? I don’t see that at all. Almost no one will have watched “The Honorable Woman” and it’s not like she’s popular.

I don’t want Julia Roberts to win, but I think she can actually do it. Of course a Cicely Tyson win would be much better.

Tyson will probably win SAG. She’s been nominated twice before in the same category for Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All in 1995 and for The Road to Galveston in 1997. If she is nominated again, this will be her third nomination.
