The Hannibal love is pleasing! The Wayward Pines noms are also interesting. Surprised at no Penny Dreadful.

They changed a lot around.  No more network/cable/best TV presentation categories. Supergirl gets 4, Continuum 3 in its goodbye….can’t complain 🙂

Best Young Actor:  Brenock O’Connor (Game of Thrones),

    lololollol.

I never understood why they include shows like Fargo, Person of Interest, Blacklist etc.
So they cover all the shows that are affiliated with one of the following. Fantasy/Horror/Crime/ Action/Thriller/Sci-Fi/Mystery.
Is there any other different genre on TV? So anything but soap operas, hu?

The Saturn Awards did not nominate Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage.  Take note, Emmys.

    Science Fiction
    Fantasy
    Action/Thriller
    Horror
    Superhero Adaptation
    New Media

One of these is not like the others.

Are these noms based on the previous season? For instance, if Melissa McBride won again, would that be for season 5, or 5b, or 5b AND 6a, or just 6a?

Saturns >>>>>> Emmys once again.  No Orphan Black and the human gimmick Maslany.  They were willing to think outside the box once again.  They remain the only American-based awards organization that had the courage to honor one of the best TV shows of this century, and its now 73-nomination total in its four-season gig.

    Continuum.

    Like it or not, they were forward thinking enough as the Emmys and Globes continue to exclude shows like it because they don’t have a smidgen of American backing. Downton Abbey, Outlander, Game of Thrones, etc. get a pass, even though they are clearly international productions.  Continuum is too Canadian for their tastes. Time for the Emmys and Globes to amend their eligibility rules slightly to include this passage;

“Any english-language program, no matter its country of origin, that debuts during the eligibility period on a broadcast, basic cable or premium cable channel, shall qualify for award consideration.”

If these organizations are really serious about promoting quality TV, then open up one more avenue like they’ve done with the online distribution outlets. Thanks, Saturns, for shaming the Emmys and Globes with their progressive stance towards quality TV.

I used to assume GoT was an international production but then it dawned on me. HBO fully produces all of its programmes and that’s where it strength comes from. They give all the money, and the production team shoot in different places. That’s pretty much the only relation it has with those countries. Just like Homeland or Sense8.

    Outlander %100 co-production.
    Downton %100 Brit show.

Saturns announced their special awards this afternoon, and they’re as follows:

    Breakthrough Performance: Melissa Benoist, Supergirl
    Lifetime Achievement: Nichelle Nichols
Special Achievement, Series: Better Call Saul
George Pal Memorial: Simon Kinberg (screenwriter/producer of X-Men franchise, The Martian, Deadpool)
Dan Curtis Legacy (Showrunner): Erik Kripke, Supernatural
    Special Recognition: Brannon Braga

Those who continue to ignore Benoist’s chances at a Lead Drama Actress Emmy nomination, continue to do so at your own peril.

Hahahahaha! Melissa Benoist is NOT getting a Lead Actress – Drama Emmy nom. We’ll continue to ignore her.
