Presenters will be added as they are announced.

In the meantime, we just interviewed producers Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss about the 2017 Emmys, Tonys, Oscars, Kennedy Center Honors, and Super Bowl halftime show starring Lady Gaga. Sounds like the category grouping by genre might not be back this year.

    Watch the interview here…

Interesting move. I’m guessing Kidman vs. Lange won’t be revealed until the end.

I think the star-studded categories (the ones with De Niro, Kidman etc) will be awarded before the Outstanding Drama and Comedy Series awarding

They can’t risk giving out any of the “big” awards right at the start, as New York (along with Miami, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Kansas City, San Francisco, and San Diego, and possibly other cities as well) has an NFL game on its CBS station starting at 4 Eastern. True, it’s highly unlikely that the coverage (there will be two games on CBS, and when one ends, the stations showing it will switch to the other one) will run past 8:00, but it is possible.

Of course, they could always pad the opening, but considering how rushed they seem to be to fit the show into three hours as it is, I don’t see that happening. I wonder how the networks feel about the possibility of an overrun resulting in people out west turning on the 8 PM Pacific broadcast, seeing the two big awards being given out “live,” and deciding not to watch the repeat.

Duh. Outstanding Comedy and Drama Series are always presented at the very end.

He said that because people were saying that the more competitive categories (like Lead Limited/Movie Actress) will be the last ones of the night

Finally. This was supposed to happen in SAG but they are finally going to do the 9 to 5 reunion and the fun part is that they are all nominees this year.

Does anyone know if the guest acting categories will be presented on Saturday or Sunday’s ceremony?

Sunday night for guest stars and most of the fictional categories this time. Saturday is reality and non-fiction. It is basically a complete swap from what was presented last year on Saturday and Sunday.
