So now BCS isn’t coming back next year either? Are any of these delayed release dates actually confirmed?

Out of the five new shows that were nominated this year, I am only confident that the Crown will maintain the same quality. I can easily see The Handmaid’s Tale, Stranger Things, and This is Us steeply dropping in quality for their sophomore seasons a la Homeland. I see Westworld staying at mainly the same level of quality but will suffer bc Thandie’s storyline won’t be as good as season 1.

My point is, as good as our predictions are, we won’t know anything unless an episode airs of the recently nominated. Transparent just had a mixed bag of a season as did the Americans for season 5. Only nominee that is safe is house of cards which will out live us all

I think we are only 100% sure about Master of None right now. But if Veep, BCS, UKS and Atlanta all become ineligible next year, Comedy will be the most open it’s been since 2010.

Justin Hartley getting nominated would be tragic. But, they nominated Leslie Jones this year, so nothing is beneath them.

Has anyone watched the leaked episodes of HBO’s “Barry”? Was Bill Hader worth a nomination?

It was not good. He was not terrible. It won’t get any nominations. It’s boring , not funny or memorable. It’ll probably get around 50’s or 60’s metacritic score. The ratings will probably be bad and it will probably not get renewed for season 2.

For Alias Grace, I think Edward Holcroft, the male lead is far more likely to get nominated over Zachary Levi for supporting actor in a limited series. Levi has a small, comedic relief role. I can’t imagine the Academy nominating him for that type of performance after snubbing his former Chuck co-star Yvonne Strahovski for Handmaid’s Tale. Rebecca Liddiard got some praise in early reviews, so she may contend for supporting actress.

Rooting for Sarah Polley to win for writing as I’ve been a fan since Road to Avonlea.

I’m confused. You said you can’t see Levi’s inferior role being nominated over the superior role because Yvonne Strahovsky’s superior role was snubbed over the inferior work of Samira Wiley and Emmy winner Ann Dowd? If anything that makes me think he has a chance because the Emmys don’t know what they are doing.

I don’t think the Academy watched Chuck. It was never nominated in any major categories (not even it’s fantastic guest cast). So I’m not sure what kind of support, if any, Levi has from the Academy. While he does have a Tony nomination for a musical, I don’t think he’s a big enough name to get in on name recognition alone.

oh okay, you were saying he wouldn’t get in on name. That makes more sense.

Both situations make me want to vomit.

ACS got in over AHS in 2016, and this year Feud got in over AHS. Next year, all three are eligible. I wonder which one(s) will make it.
