How on earth is voting open already? (But apparently it opened at the same time last year.)November 17, 2017 at 2:35 am #1202413259
I actually have Ann Dowd “The Handmaid’s Tale” in 5th place instead of Winona Ryder simply because she won the Emmy category Ryder couldn’t even get nominated in. I have MBB as Stranger Things’ sole individual acting nod, and even then I have her in 4th. I do NOT think she is a lock at all.
Predicting Dowd is a reach I think because Moss will be the likely winner coming from that show. However, I agree with you on MBB being the sole nominee from Stranger Things that seems like a real possibility.
I was also thinking Dowd to ride in on Moss’ coattails because that is what happened with Holly Hunter (on the far less crowded TV Movie/Mini side, granted) in Top of the Lake. Moss and Hunter both lost, but I think it had less to do with vote-splitting and more with Helen Mirren being a veteran name-check for Phil Spector. That was my comparison, even though it is admittedly a “reach” as you said.
Does anyone think Ian McShane can get nominated for American Gods? That seems like more of a Globes show, but I thought I would throw that out there just for the heck of it.November 17, 2017 at 6:42 am #1202413357

I dont think American Gods will get any acting nominations … the show was a completle snooze

Does SAG like Fargo performances? They’ve only nominated Thornton so far.November 23, 2017 at 1:28 pm #1202419331
The second season had to go drama and I believe that they did not submit for ensemble. There are new rules and they are back in the limited/movie races this time.December 4, 2017 at 11:11 am #1202429254
Most unexpected news of the day. Maybe I should add her to my Globe predictions. This demonstrates that she is trying to get out there.December 4, 2017 at 11:31 am #1202429263
Why in the living world of fucks would they do this? SAG Awards are my favourite specifically for the lack of some super-tryhard host. Hopefully hosting duties are kept to a minimum.December 4, 2017 at 12:31 pm #1202429307
I like Bell and she would make for a good Globes host in a couple years (given her relationship with NBC). But I don’t like the idea of a SAG host. The thing that is always great about the SAG telecast is that they are never short on time
Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.December 4, 2017 at 2:57 pm #1202429426
A stunning, fantastic announcement. Bell has had award hosting experience before, with two CMT Music Awards gigs from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville in the early 2010’s. She’ll do just fine, and the twitter video of her announcement was riotously funny.December 4, 2017 at 7:41 pm #1202429596
I got nothing against Bell (only the fact that she has Guest2014 as her fan), but it DOES NOT need a host.
