Talking about newcomers I’m thinking Diane Krudger is pretty much a lock at this point.

Michael J. Fox picks up where Spin City and Alec Baldwin left off.

The big question is who will win comedy lead actor?  Alec Baldwin has a perfect seven-year streak for 30 Rock, but this is Michael J. Fox.

Vera Farmiga could actually get nominated. But Claire Danes will win possibly. There are going to give her a 2nd SAG.

    Is Baldwin even eligible?

I’m not sure Kruger will make it in. The Bridge has not made much of a splash. Plus they put all the actresses in there — and they didn’t count Lange as miniseries/movie last year.

Danes, Smith, and Lange will probably all return. Margulies? Washington? Wright? Russell?

Site says you need 6 episodes, so Baldwin should be out.

MJF got 3 Globes, 2 Sags, and 1 Emmy for Spin City, so with this show he may likewise do well with the Emmys but do even better with the other awards. Just like Baldwin.

Drama Actress: Claire Danes, Michelle Dockery, Julianna Margulies, Maggie Smith, Robin Wright

Comedy Series: The Big Bang Theory, The Michael J. Fox Show, Modern Family, 30 Rock, Veep
Comedy Actor: Alec Baldwin, Ty Burrell, Don Cheadle, Louis C.K., Michael J. Fox

Movie/Mini Actor: Benedict Cumberbatch, Larry David, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Al Pacino
Movie/Mini Actress: Gillian Anderson, Kathy Bates, Helena Bonham Carter, Jessica Lange, Elisabeth Moss

It is my understanding that 30 Rock is not eligible this year and that because American Horror Story started in the Drama category that is where it must stay thus why Lange was nominated there again last year after her win. Does anyone know if that rule is still in place?

Downton Abbey started in the miniseries category and managed to switch.

American Horror Story must stay in the drama races. A program can switch from mini to drama but not the other way around. That is what they indicated last year regarding AHS.

I am checking on 30 Rock right now. The most recent indication I had was that it would definitely be eligible again.

Some things to remember this year when predicting:

    – 30 Rock SHOULDN’T (doesn’t mean it won’t) be eligible this year, due to only airing 5 episodes in 2013 (If you count “Hogcock/Last Lunch” as two separate episodes). (**)
    – Veep was snubbed across the board last year, including Comedy Actress (***)
    – American Horror Story will be competing in the Drama categories, because the SAG’s did not allow them to switch from Drama to Miniseries last year.
    – These are the people who nominated Betty White THREE consecutive years for Hot in Cleveland, and gave her two wins.

    Notes:
** When I say shouldn’t, I don’t mean from a personal view. I mean, according to the rules, they shouldn’t be eligible. Only time will tell.
*** The same happened to Homeland in its first season. It was snubbed across the board, but came back with 3 nominations the following year.
