This show is airing right now. I am suspecting it to be a ratings hit. It has mixed reviews with critics due to its depiction of Muslims. The show is very divisive. The IMDB score is very low, but I’m guessing that is because of racist fanboys. Properties staring African Americans tend to have low IMDB scores. The birth of a nation had a 4.4 before the contreversey, when the critics loved it, and the people hadn’t seen it. The low score for legacy is just a Buch is losers that are pissed that a black guy is leading 24. Mist critics say that the show is not bad, but just ignorant, so I can imagine the writers fixing some things to make this worth the watch.February 5, 2017 at 9:07 pm #1202003931
I suprisingly enjoyed this. Miranda Otto was great. I am still pissed she was snubbed last year for Homeland. She deserves that Emmy. She gave the best performance in her category and maybe even overall. I also enjoyed Hawkins and Dan B. I did not like the actor that played Ben. The Nicole actress was alright. The directing was really good though.February 5, 2017 at 10:37 pm #1202003958
I really thought I would hate this. I wanted to hate it. I didn’t hate it. I actually kind of liked it.February 7, 2017 at 8:55 pm #1202005425
I wonder if they submit this in limited. It is turning out to be a huge bomb, between its 48 on Metacritic and its 1.5 rating the night after the Super Bowl. It can still get three Emmy nominations though, regardless of where it is placed (Sean Callery, stunts, sound editing).
It was okay. Some things were stupid.February 7, 2017 at 9:03 pm #1202005436

is there precedent for a non mini series bombing and then turning into a miniseries to try and get Emmys?February 7, 2017 at 9:42 pm #1202005466
Yes! The most famous example in recent years is Missing getting a nomination for Ashley Judd. But it has been done less successfully by others, like Mad Dogs last year. It also won Andre Braugher an Emmy for Thief.April 22, 2017 at 11:04 am #1202073525
“Carter was right—she never forgot her father’s number.”
That finale was dumb.April 22, 2017 at 11:39 am #1202073546
Too bad that that was your first exposure to the franchise. The original was so good for so long.
