Am I crazy for picking “Triumph…” for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special?

It’s an interesting pick for sure. I just think if it’s not Amy, it’ll be Patton. Not to put anything other than worth for a potential win for him, there’s a sympathy factor that will come into play. How could it not?

Am I crazy for picking “Triumph…” for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special?

It’s an interesting pick for sure. I just think if it’s not Amy, it’ll be Patton. Not to put anything other than worth for a potential win for him, there’s a sympathy factor that will come into play. How could it not?

Schumer in special writing has always struck me as one of the biggest locks of the night, especially after her show picked up directing at the Creative Arts, but there is something to be said for the election special. I mean, it is the only nominee that is not a stand-up special, so if enough voters are tired of stand-up comics winning this award or if the votes are split evenly enough, Triumph is totally the apple in the bag of oranges that could sneak to a win. Having said that, I do have Patton Oswalt in second because I do not think that voters will take Triumph too seriously and you never know when sexism will kick in.

Yeah, I forgot about that win last week. I might look at this category again. It’s too bad that the show won there this year when last year they had a stronger year. I guess the farewell to Jon Stewart was too good to pass up.

Can you explain why you are predicting this? I really don’t see it happening considering how much it under performed.
