I highly doubt it that Emmy-snubbed Holly Hunter and noname Anna Gunn will make it at the Globes. Hayden Panettiere, Julie Bowen, Sandra Oh (leaving Grey’s Anatomy, and the Globes proved to re-nominate favorits), Jane Lynch and of course Sarah Paulson looks a better choice.

    1. Maggie Smith
    2. Sarah Paulson
    3. Sofia Vergara
    4. Julie Bowen
    5. Kathy Bates

And I hope that Ty Burell finally will be a Golden Globe nominee.

I want to see Aaron Paul nominated, and Bryan Cranston to win his first Golden Globe.  Pretty much a huge joke that he hasn’t won one yet.  Maybe the hype for Breaking Bad’s final season will pull it to a drama series win here—it would be strange, since it’s not the hot, new show but with the huge ratings for the season premiere, maybe that makes it (finally) a more likely choice for the HFPA?

It’s possible, though I could easily see them going with something else. As far as Cranston is concerned, I think that he might have some trouble going up against Kevin Spacey.

^^That Lead Actress Drama lineup is more what I had in mind. I’m not convinced that they’d leave out Kerry Washington and Robin Wright; and I’m not convined they’d nominate Tatiana Maslany, either. Diane Kruger might be interchangeable with Keri Russell, though.

And House of Cards over The Americans also seems more likely.

    Kevin Spacey.

Didn’t Boomer say something a few weeks ago about how Spacey is really involved with the HFPA’s charity work? Or something like that… anyway he said he was pretty much a shoo-in to win.

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. By the way, how come Spacey has never won a Golden Globe before? I can understand his being overshadowed in cases like Recount or The Shipping News, but it’s a little surprising to see that he couldn’t get an award for American Beauty.

Louis C.K. and Louie will not be eligible this time. The same goes for Matt LeBlanc and Episodes.

Robin Williams and Michael J. Fox can fill their slots, if their shows are at least solid.

Well, maybe Spacey’s winless streak will continue.  I sure hope it does.  It would be ridiculous if Cranston never won a Globe for his performance on Breaking Bad, surely the best lead role over an entire series in years.

I wonder if Orange is the New Black can get into whatever category it will be placed in.
