Chiklis’ is one of my favorite wins because it showcased that tapes did matter in that category. He was an antihero in his episode submission, and he showed a lot of range in his episode.

The 2015 winners will probably be this year’s winners as well.

So the only actors to win twice without another major nom for their show are Shalhoub and Janney. But at least his middle win got one.
How will Janney and Davis do this year?

Actually, I think Mr. Robot is the only show that can take down Game of Thrones…Well, I guess that Downton Abbey has a small chance too but unlikely.

Mr. Robot is getting snubbed, Golden Globes has touched it.

Mr. Robot is a show that has been praise by very important people in the industry like the creators of Mad Men and Game of Thrones.

Just like Empire was last year? I wouldn’t put the house on Mr Robot being nominated for Series.

I know with Jane The Virgin, users were suggesting snobbery about the channel it is on was a key factor for it not getting in. Will the fact that Mr Robot is on USA(I think), affect its chances in a similar way?

Mr. Robot: SAG nomination, WGA win
    Jane the Virgin: neither

Tom chose an interesting place for this discussion.

Don’t we always say that precursors never mean much with the Emmys, that’s why we love them? Is Mr. Robot really an Emmy friendly show?

The guilds share voters with the Emmys; most of them just have different eligibility periods, so they should be taken seriously. The Producers Guild actually uses the same eligibility period and has a great track record as a result. Shared winners in the last decade with the Emmys:

    PGA Drama: 8/10
    PGA Comedy: 8/10

    TCA Drama: 4/10
    TCA Comedy: 4/10

    Globe Drama: 5/10
    Globe Comedy: 2/10

    Critics’ Choice Drama: 4/5
    Critics’ Choice Comedy: 1/5

So Mr. Robot‘s Globe and Critic wins are irrelevant.
