HBO has confirmed the debut date for ALL THE WAY, with the HBO Films drama scheduled to debut
    SATURDAY, MAY 21 at 8:00
    p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.

Bryan Cranston reprises his Tony-winning role in ALL THE WAY,
    a riveting behind-the-scenes look at President Lyndon B. Johnson’s
tumultuous first year in office after the assassination
of John F. Kennedy. Staking his presidency on what would be an
historic, unprecedented Civil Rights Act, Johnson finds himself caught
between the moral imperative of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the
expectations of the southern Democratic Party leaders
    who brought Johnson to power.

Directed by Jay Roach from a screenplay
by Robert Schenkkan, who adapted his Tony-winning play of the same name.
The cast also stars Anthony Mackie (as Martin Luther King, Jr.),
Melissa Leo (as Lady Bird Johnson), Bradley Whitford (as Hubert
    Humphrey) and
Stephen Root (as J. Edgar Hoover).

Produced for HBO by Amblin Television, Tale Told
Productions and Moonshot Entertainment, with Steven Spielberg, Robert
    Schenkkan
, Jay Roach, Bryan Cranston, Darryl Frank
    and Justin Falvey executive producing.

Now this is what I’m talking about! After the low that was “Bessie”, HBO is back in fighting form. Can’t wait for this one.

Barring any major surprises, All the Way will likely sweep the mini/movie races. Being an HBO movie + an HBO movie directed by Emmy winner Jay Roach + Tony winning play + having a president as the subject matter in an election year checks all the boxes off. Similarly, Cranston is almost certainly locked for the Mini/Movie Lead Actor Emmy. Reprising a Tony winning role + a portrayal of a real person + his multiple previous Emmy wins for Breaking Bad + his recent Oscar nom for Trumbo = Emmy #7. And as a producer for the movie, he’ll get Emmy #8 as well.

Lol. The trailer does look pretty great, though. Melissa Leo & Anthony Mackie automatic nominees along side Bryan??

Going off of the play the film is based off of I think the standout
supporting actor will probably be Frank Langella? The role of Richard
Russell Jr was the only other performance that received any other awards
recogntion and Langella is a much bigger name.

You do understand actors sometimes don’t do things for the awards right? I think it is awesome HBO picks up award winning Broadway shows and allows them to be seen by the world like All the Way and Lady Day.

I hope it’s not like Selma and tells the truth about LBJs record and how the bill was passed.
