I don’t get why All the Way is considered the better of the 2. I was far more engaged by Confirmation. Is this more Bryan Cranston critic/industry fanboying?

I think Kerry Washington should be awarded for her producing efforts with a Best TV Movie Emmy seeing she is not going to beat Paulson or Dunst.

I can speak for everyone, but I enjoyed All the Way a lot more, and I’m the farthest thing from a Cranston fanboy. But neither are great.

It was better, but it had its own set of flaws and All the Way looked more prestigious and ambitious.

LOL Yeah. They were both pretty run of the mill HBO films but I was far more interested in the performances of Washington/Pierce than Cranston so that’s probably why I liked it more. Kerry really deserves the award more than Jay Roach doing his usual B effort.

The fact people consider Cranston a lock is another reason I LOATHE this new system. Far too many talented guys in this category giving better performances. But of course Cranston will win a popular TV Academy vote.

I am not a Cranston fanboy, I hated his every win (especially the last two) over more deserving people but All the Way is amazing and in my opinion was more consistent.

All the Way had a lot of humor, unlike the self-serious Confirmation. What surprises me is that aesthetically All the Way is the only one trying something more than usual Roach/HBO tv movie routine –and Confirmation is directed by the frequently daring Famuyiwa

Cranston would have been a lock under the panel system too though. The performance is so loud.

I’m indifferent, I just hope Sherlock: The Abominable Bride pulls off an well-deserved upset over these 2 Emmy baits for Best TV Movie.

“Confirmation” > “All the Way,” but I guess I can’t begrudge Cranston winning for this role. My preferences there would easily be Isaac or Vance. In another year, Washington would have won her producing Emmy just like Queen Latifah did for “Bessie.” Her acting category is far more competitive than Cranston’s, and in a election year, I think that the popular vote will go for the more overtly political film with “All the Way.” Takes nothing away from what “Confirmation” accomplished, or me being impressed with Kerry for the first time in a longgg while.

“The Abominable Bride” was kind of a failure, but if the choice is an uneven HBO movie or the Sherlock franchise, I have to root for the latter.
