Angus T. Jones slams ‘Two and a Half Men,’ urges fans to stop watching ‘filth

    from EW.com Hillary Busis

Is Angus T. Jones the new Charlie Sheen?

The 19-year-old actor isn’t spewing nonsense about tiger blood and winning. But Jones is biting the hand that feeds him in a very public way by urging Two and a Half Men viewers to stop watching the CBS comedy hit that he’s appeared on for ten years — and calling the program “filth.”

A video in which Jones laments his involvement in the sitcom appeared on YouTube today. The clip is the second part of a religious testimony Jones gave to Chris “The Forerunner” Hudson, a Christian conspiracy theorist who believes President Obama’s reelection is a sign that the End of Days is near. After describing his religious awakening, Jones takes aim at the series that made him famous.

“Jake from Two and a Half Men means nothing,” Angus says. “He is [a] non-existent character.”

The former child star, whose Men character recently romanced Miley Cyrus onscreen, then sighs and brings his forehead to his hand. “Two and a Half Men – if you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men. I’m on Two and a Half Men, and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth. Please.”

Angus, who’s reportedly paid $300,000 per episode, goes on to advise viewers to “do some research on the effect of television on your brain,” and apparently compares TV — if not Two and a Half Men itself — to Satan. “A lot of people don’t like to think about how deceptive the enemy is,” he says. “He’s been doing this for a lot longer than any of us have been around. There’s no playing around when it comes to eternity.”

Warner Bros. TV — which produces Two and a Half Men —  has no comment. The video is bound to draw comparisons to Sheen’s very public meltdown two years ago, which resulted in an epic headache for the network and studio — and ended with Sheen being fired and replaced by Ashton Kutcher. But while Sheen’s rants were fueled by a volatile mix of drugs and ego, Jones’ comments come from the opposite end of the protest spectrum. It arguably puts CBS and Warner Bros. in a tougher position when an actor bashes his show due to religious conviction rather than wild hedonism.

Here’s the clip; skip to the 7:37 mark to see Jones bash Men:

Well, thanks for telling us what we’ve already known for 10 years.

As if we needed another reason not to watch this show.

I wonder if he also considers his $300K weekly paycheck “filth”.

I wonder if he’ll enjoy all the zillions in residuals this filth will earn him through his lifetime. I don’t think there’s going to be a huge future for him in acting after this show.

But he plans to bask in the countless millions of dollars he’s made off of this “filthy” show (and will continue to make for the rest of his life)? Let’s see him donate all of his past and future earnings to charities if he’s so ashamed of this show and the work he’s done on it. (And yes, he should be ashamed in both cases.)

Are they gonna fire him too? Will he be replaced by someone else? I have the impression the show will live on until no original cast member is a part of it.

This is very much Kirk Cameron: Part 2 isn’t it?

I do wonder how much of having to work with Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre drove him to religion. And I’m only half-joking.

Ut oh, it might be time to kill Jake Harper off.

Anybody have a fun creative idea? (perhaps dealing with ‘filth’ lol)

I feel so bad for him!! Poor kid, any other “kid” would have ended like Lindsay Lohan or that guy from Home Alone or Malcom In The Middle. Im glad he is NOT on the way on becoming Charlie Sheen or anything close that. If he found peace on religion good for him. He is 19, got cast when he was about 9. He probably didn’t choose this… this jokes are terrible. Like, shaking my head…
