With both “American Crime” and “American Crime Story: People Vs. OJ Simpson” as huge contenders this season is there any chance that the similar titles might be confusing for some voters who might confuse “American Crime” for “American Crime Story” and vote for it believing they are voting for the OJ Simpson series? Likely people who haven’t watched either one or only watched one of the two. Or who just aren’t paying close attention to their ballots?
I’m wondering if something like this could accidently give American Crime a win or two in some categories like Directing, Writing or Limited Series?
I think that some voters are confused in general.
No, considering American Crime is not nominated in Writing or Directing categories, and American Crime Story is marketed as The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, everything is fine.
Doubt it, though I do totally believe Fargo, for reasons unrelated to titles, could upset them both.
