    Julie Bowen
    Ty Burrell
    Jesse Tyler Ferguson

    And then there were three…

Anybody think any of these has a shot at an Emmy win this year? I’m dying to see what episodes each submits. People seem to be set on Hale repeating for Veep, but I think Fred Armisen or Jesse Tyler Ferguson could easily upset.

Is Bowen completely shut out by Mulgrew and Janney?

Bowen’s chances are pretty bad consdering she doesn’t have her pet Vergara to support her with another tape.

I don’t really get the love for Jesse Tyler Ferguson, he’s never really made me laugh on that show. But I really think that this award will go to Andre Braugher or Tony Hale

Ferguson is in this if he submits well, like we’ve said already. I’m not convinced of Hale’s “lock” status for “Crate.” Is Burrell a threat? I think most/all former winners are threats in a certain sense. Bowen didn’t have the knockout material this season to justify another win, and now she’s standing alone in her field (though Vergara wouldn’t have helped her significantly this season, I think). But her category is one of the most unpredictable and random, and she’s a former winner too, so who knows?

If he nails his submission (“The Wedding Parts 1 and 2” or “Message Received”), Jesse Tyler Ferguson will have a good shot at winning.

Ferguson will be a lock with “Message Received”. Burrell is always a threat, but it seems like JTF’s year.

Hale is only out front because his is the only tape we know of right now. After everyone elses choices are revealed, he’ll drop as he didn’t have much but a nosebleed in his episode.

I think these 2 supporting categories are wide open, and just about anyone could win. Adam Driver could upset in a Merrit Wever sort of way. ANYTHING can happen. It’s better that way IMO!

If Julie submits the episode where she has the speech about being a Mom at Haley’s photography thing, then she has a chance, but I don’t see her winning Emmy #3 over whatever Emmy bait Allison Janney submits.
I also think Kate Mulgrew could win to honour OITNB…and she was the standout right from the get-go amongst a massive female cast.

If Janney submits what I hope she submits, then this race really might be over with.

Mulgrew was a standout in season 1, but the supporting actress of note for me was Natasha Lyonne, and she was actually funny in just about all that they gave her to do. I would have never thought of her as a “guest actress.” though, but I’m guessing that’s a contractual billing issue.

Both Burrell and Bowen had the best tapes last year and lost.  They now have heavier competition.  I say that they are done.

What did Hale have in “Running”?

The Dunphys can’t win, but JTF will be the frontrunner if she submits Message Received.

Definitely not. There is no obvious choice for supporting actor this year. Hale is not repeating, so anyone could win. The modern family people are in the same good position as before, with multiple tapes. I think Burrell is always a threat to repeat because he just has appreciation for his character and great material. JTF might have been dumped but wasn´t, and that might mean he no longer has to compete with most of his cast and might also have a submission.

For an episode all about their wedding, JTF and Stonestreet surprisingly did nothing in those 2 episodes; it was more about the crazy shit going on around them. It would be really unwise for him to submit that. JTF needs to go with Message Received instead; the ending isn’t exactly funny, but it’s memorable and he gets to actually do something. Either way, I don’t think he deseves to win, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

I think that Ty Burrell could win again, and that Braugher will lose, because he’s one of the few B99 nominations. I could see Burrell winning again, since he is the best part of Modern Family.
