I love Arrested Development and I am very excited about the upcoming fourth season. I was watching the entire series, and I was wondering about some of the guest stars who were amazing, but did not get nominated.

So I started wondering, what Emmy oppurtunities did Arrested Development miss out on while it was on TV?

    Mine are as follows:

    • Will Arnett should have been nominated for all three years in Supporting Actor
    • Judy Greer should have been nominated for Guest Actress for the episode “Missing Kitty”
    • Martin Short should have been nominated and won for the episode “Ready, Aim, Marry Me”
    • I personally believe Ron Howard should have been nominated for Outstanding Voiceover Performance. His narratation made the show that extra bit funnier
    • Jessica Walter should have been nominated for all the seasons, but won for the series finale “Development Arrested”
    • Charlize Theron should have won for her arc in Season Three as Rita.

Arrested Development is a wonderful and clever show. I really wish that we knew which guest stars were submitted. The standouts for me from season one were Liza Minelli, Julia Louis Dreyfuss, and Henry Winkler.

Ron Howard should have received recognition for his voiceover work.

I believe that Jessica Walter probably came in 6th in the voting in 2004, but she should have been nominated all three seasons.

David Cross definitely deserved to be nominated for all three seasons with season two being his strongest.

Arrested Development could and should have dominated the Supporting Actor category from 2004 to 2006 like Modern Family did in 2011 and 2012.

I was rooting for Arrested Development to win Outstanding Comedy Series all three years.

David Cross should’ve been nominated, particularly for the 2nd season, in my humble opinion. In fact, I would have probably given him the win that year.

Voiceover Performance was a juried award during the years “Arrested Development” was on the air. That means there were no nominations for the category.

I also agree that David Cross was criminally snubbed.  I think the other deserving members of the regular cast did get their deserved nominations, just not as frequently as they should have.  You could make an argument for Tony Hale, but I don’t think Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera or Alia Shawkat delivered anything nomination-worthy.
I think Liza Minelli should have been nominated for Guest, no question (and I also agree that guest nominations for Winkler and Theron would have been welcome).

Will Arnett should have and would have won with “Let ‘Em Eat Cake” in Season One.

David Cross should’ve and could’ve won with any of the Mrs. Featherbottom episodes from Season 2.  Probably “Meat The Veals” is best though.  Although, Franklin steals a few scenes.  Why do there have to be puppets like Frank?

Either “Afternoon Delight” or “Motherboy XXX” could have won writing.

Should have won for Season 1 and 2 but I was rooting for all three.

It’s an upcoming project. There will be a 10 episode fourth season on Netflix sometime in early 2013.

I also have been going through all the episodes of AD, and I never realized before how much of stand out David Cross was. He shoulda been nominated all three years. Portia Del Rossi should have also been nommed at one point. I thought Jeffrey Tambor was a bit overrated. I think some of the other supporting actors (Cross and Arnett) deserved nominations before him. Jessica Walters should have won at one point.

Yeah, i think this show should have dominated the categories the same way Modern Family is doing now (maybe excluding Shawkat, Cera, and Hale to be fair).

As for guest actors….JLD, Charlize Thereon, Judy Greer, Henry Winkler. I don’t understand how this show didn’t recognition for those two categories.

Wasn’t Ron Howard uncredited? So he probably wasn’t eligible anyway…If he had been credited, then he would have definitely been deserving.

I thought that season 3 got better once the plotline with Charlize Theron was over.  She sucked up too much time away from the other regulars.

I think the fact that Jason Bateman recieved only a single Emmy nod for his work on the series is criminal.   He really should have been nominated all three times.

I’d have LOVED to see Portia De Rossi get nominated, I’ve always felt that she’s been underrated since “Ally McBeal” where she was IMHO a worthy potential nominee that never was.

So nobody thinks that Season Two was Tony Hale’s season? With the whole hand/seal thing? I would’ve nominated him for sure.

Arnett and Cross should’ve been nominated for all three seasons. Tambor for seasons 1 and 2. Walters all three seasons and DeRossi probably for season 2. Bateman for all three seasons.

Henry Winkler was in 5 episodes for season 1, could’ve been nominated easily there. For season 2 he had 9 episodes including Let Em Eat Cake which is season one, but aired in june and was entered as season two, was included in their series tape and got one other nomination. So he was inelegible for that season. Season 3 he had one episode, don’t remember what he did in it to see if he was deserving or not.

Julia Louis Dreyfus, Charlize Theron and Judy Greer were easy nominees with Dreyfus an easy winner. I don’t even know how Liza Minelli missed out on those nominations, if she was entered, you’d think she was a lock considering how many legends end up in these categories, some of them for doing nothing.

I’ve watched the entire series multiple times but in terms of guest stars here are the one’s that I recall being memorable to me: Henry Winlker, Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Liza Minelli and Scott Baoi.

I really don’t even remember Charliez Theron being on the show.
