Currently, the record is held by the ER episode “Love’s Labor Lost” with 5 Emmy wins. Right now the Game of Thrones episode “Battle of the Bastards” has 4, for Non-Prosthetic Makeup, Editing, Visual Effects, and Sound Mixing. It is still in contention for 3 other Awards, Sapochnik’s Directing, Benioff and Weiss’ Writing, and Harington’s performance as Jon Snow.

All “Battle of the Bastards” needs to do is win 1 of those 3 in order to tie “Love’s Labor Lost”, and win 2 (probably Writing and Directing, which I’m predicting it to win) in order to stand alone at the top as the most-awarded single episode of any Television Series in Emmy history.

What do you think? It’s already broken so many records, why not this one? 🙂

It will, and completely deservedly so, win the Directing Emmy.
It will win Harrington the Emmy.
It stands a strong bet at winning the Writing Emmy.

It’s a blinder of an episode. Up there with Thrones’ best.

As far as I know the pilot of Boardwalk Empire has 6 Emmys.

Hmm. I think Directing is its only safe bet. Even that, I’m skeptical of. The name of the episode surely helps, but the name of the helmer does not.

Don’t think it will win anything else.

You’re right. The “Boardwalk Empire” pilot won directing, sound editing, picture editing, non-prosthetic makeup, art direction, and visual effects.

Has another episode ever won more than that?

It’s winning directing and for Harrington.

Which will give it 7 Emmys, beating the record.

Harington is not winning. It’s winning Directing for sure. Still don’t think it fits the bill for Writing.

“Battle of the Bastards” needs to win Directing, Harington, AND Writing in order to stand alone at the top. I am predicting it will win Directing and Writing, bringing it up to 6 wins, and tying it with the Boardwalk Empire Pilot of the same name as the most Awarded single episode of a TV series in Emmy history.

I don’t think it’s losing writing or editing, so at least it will tie BEmpire’s pilot.

Do you mean Writing and DIRECTING? It already won Editing.
