Going with Anderson for the upset (to compliment my Black-ish prediction in Comedy Series), though Tambor’s the safe pick and Ansari shouldn’t be underestimated.
Even though her competitors sent fine tapes, JLD is like King Kong surrounded by Keebler Elves.
OSCAR FLASHBACK: Best Original Song (1989) – A Love Letter to Howard AshmanAugust 5, 2016 at 11:17 am #1201903475
I’m hoping for an upset in the Actress category. I want Metcalf the most, but if it’s anyone else than overrated JLD, I’ll be fine.August 5, 2016 at 4:05 pm #1201903601
Will Win: Dreyfus and Tambor
Should Win: Dreyfus and Anderson
Could Win: N/A and Anderson
Dark Horse Spoiler: N/A and Ansari
Bottom line Dreyfus can’t lose, it certainly is boring watching her win every year, but at least she’s always great so I can’t get too mad. As far as Actor goes, Anderson would win by a country mile if episodes still mattered, but really anyone but Tambor should win, maybe not Aziz though, why did you submit Parents? Why?August 5, 2016 at 4:37 pm #1201903622
Of all the four acting winners from last year, Tambor IMO is the most vulnerable one. Anderson is so contagious in Black-ish that he could easily emerge as the winner.August 5, 2016 at 10:36 pm #1201903662
Is Tambor’s hype as big this year as it was last year? I could see Anderson or Aziz winning, tbh.August 5, 2016 at 11:24 pm #1201903680
Comedy Lead Actor:
I want to win – Aziz Ansari (Master of None)
I think will win – Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent)
Spoiler: Anthony Anderson (Black-ish)
Comedy Lead Actress:
I want to win – Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep)
I think will win – Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep)
Spoiler: Laurie Metcalf (Getting On)August 6, 2016 at 10:31 am #1201903770
Ansari should have picked “Indians on TV” or “Mornings” for his tape. I could see Anderson upsetting for sure with “Hope,” but I’m predicting Tambor until he loses.August 6, 2016 at 9:00 pm #1201903858
Dreyfus is winning, period.
Tambor is 90% a lock, but Anderson has a lot of buzz, he’s the RU but not winning, not this year.August 6, 2016 at 9:55 pm #1201903891
I kind of think everything has come together for Anderson to win. Last year it was like okay maybe a year or two, but there is support for the show and they are watching the show, so I think he will win based on that.August 7, 2016 at 8:32 am #1201903984
I still don’t like how Julia-Louis Dreyfus kept stealing the Emmy away from Amy Poehler in years past.August 7, 2016 at 5:02 pm #1201904099
Amy Poehler deserves to have as many Emmys as Julia-Louis Dreyfus.August 7, 2016 at 7:53 pm #1201904161
When voters watch the tapes submitted, the performances are all subjective to what the voters like. Ultimately, what one finds as funny/comedic in one episode may not seem to be that to another voter, and vice versa.
I know JLD has this in the bag this year, for example, but I found Metcalf’s performance in her submission to be just as good, but voters watching the episodes will more than likely not agree.
