    My Current Predix…

    1. Game of Thrones
    2. House of Cards
    3. Mr. Robot
    4. Better Call Saul
    5. Downton Abbey
    6. Homeland
    7. Orange is the New Black

I am really not buying the “Horace and Pete” thing. I know absolutely NO ONE who has watched it or even heard of it outside of Goldderby and some entertainment blogs. That being said if they do a big campaign and get voters to actually watch it, I could easily eat my words.

And if there’s a spoiler that might make it into the final seven in one of those shows places, I’m thinking it’s “Narcos”…. It seems like “Vinyl” and “Billions” are way too divisive… I’d love to see “The Good Wife” return, but that’s probably wishful thinking.

Why are people predicting Horace & Pete to get in? The show has zero buzz and nobody is talking about it outside of this site. People hated it when Outlander was being hyped so much last year for the exact same reasons!

    Anyway, my predictions:
    1. Game of Thrones
    2. House of Cards
    3. Downton Abbey
    4. Better Call Saul
    5. Vinyl
    6. Homeland
    7. Orange Is The New Black

Closest competitors to edge out these: Narcos, Bloodline, Mr Robot.

Also, I have ranked the 7 in terms of likelihood of being nominated. In terms of chances of winning, Vinyl is about 3rd behind Thrones and Cards.

No “Horace & Pete.” Replace that with “Homeland.” Last slot goes to something new like “Narcos” or maybe “Mr. Robot” (not entirely convinced of the latter; might have to settle for acting and tech nods). Don’t expect “The Good Wife” to ever make it back. The uproar over last year’s snub might give a leg up to “The Americans.” Rest is fine.

    Locks
    Game of Thrones
    House of Cards
    Downton Abbey
    Better Call Saul

    Likely
    Orange is the New Black
    Homeland

    Fighting for last spot
    Mr. Robot
    Vinyl
    Narcos
    The Good Wife
The Americans (still keeping the faith, the writing nomination last year and Martindale’s win are huge)

Yeah I don’t get how Horace and Pete has a chance of getting in when critical darlings and more popular series like The Americans, Mr. Robot, and The Leftovers are not even close to being guaranteed.

    Definite:
    Game of Thrones
    House of Cards
    Downton Abbey
    Better Call Saul

I am positive about these, especially the first 3.

    Likely:
    Mr. Robot
    Vinyl
    Orange in the New Black
    Homeland

I think Vinyl will get in and I can only hope Mr. Robot gets a well-deserved nomination.

Homeland and Orange is the New Black are relying on past love and buzz, imo.

The drama race just feels completly dull this year. GOT is probably going to win no matter the quality of the series. The fact that HOC and DA are locks is upsetting since the two are lesser series in a field of such drama shows that have no chance at getting nominated.

Horace and Pete is an exciting prospect since the show is brillant and the academy loves C.K. which is why the show should not be underestimated.

I just continue to avoid Mr. Robot because it just doesn’t appeal to me and even though everyone seems confident in it there’s still something that leaves me from predicting it.

P.S. Can we not think of Vinyl happening because sure it has the HBO/Scorsese prestigue but when GOT airs on the channel and it doesn’t have the BE buzz I really think it’s Canavale or bust.

I think House of Cards S4 was excellent and deserves the nomination. I haven’t thought that since S1, but I think S4 deserves to be nominated and even possibly win. This is without seeing S6 of Game of Thrones though which will probably be amazing.

I wish Downton Abbey, Orange is the New Black, and Homeland would be forgotten. I enjoy all 3 still, but they definitely don’t compare to a lot of other amazing series, such as The Americans, Mr. Robot, Outlander, etc.

I think Vinyl could get in. I’ve been enjoying it immensely.  The acting is awesome, the directing, and I think the story keeps getting better. It’s not the BEST show on TV, but I think it deserves recognition.

I think GOT has to be really, really bad for it to come close to lose this year, there´s nothing exciting that can take it down right now at less the academy fall (to quote Dame Hellen Mirren) “ass over tit” for Downton Abbey final season. The American and The Leftovers is sadly not happening. I think Vinyl will easily take Mad Men place and a with it a big lot of nods in tech categories. Homeland and OITNB are in very shaky territory this year, for once Homeland had a lesser season and no buzz while OITNB proved to be a very lightweight in the drama race last year, Netflix should appeal again and try to pushing it in comedy series where it belong. As for now these are my predictions:

    1-Game of Thrones
    2-Downton Abbey
    3-Vinyl
    4-Better Call Saul
    5-House of Cards
    6-Homeland
    7-Orange is the New Black

Very close behind: Mr. Robot, Narcos, Bloodline.

    Locks:
Game of Thrones: 2015 winner; insane buzz
Downton Abbey: perennial nominee; farewell season
House of Cards: perennial nominee; stronger, well-received season
Better Call Saul: post-Breaking Bad love that will never subside; stronger, well-received season

    Likely:
Orange is the New Black: perennial nominee, but its light-hearted 3rd season may and age may hinder it

    On the edge:
Homeland: well-received, yet more restrained and quiet 5th season; less buzz than S4

First-timers waiting to be welcomed into the CLUB:
-Mr. Robot: critical darling, high buzz; but network prejudice may hinder
-Vinyl: Creater/producer pedigree; but medium buzz and mediocre reviews may hinder
-Horace & Pete: Louis CK and Steve Buscemi are Emmy darlings and it’s a fresh take on the traditional TV format; buzz is very secular and mainly on the internet + not many people are aware of it
-Billions: Showtime pedigree and gaining popularity; less well-received than other shows

Low probability of nomination but will likely get campaigned:
    – The Leftovers
    – The Good Wife
    – Empire
    – unREAL
    – Narcos

Side note: I’m still upset that OITNB is even included in this category. It is a DARK COMEDY. Transparent is way more of a Drama than it is.

If more than one new nominees come it is very likely that they will drop Orange is the New Black and not Homeland. But I believe both of them will stay and the only new nominee will be Vinyl taking Mad Men’s spot.

Pretty much all of this, except for the ‘Horace & Pete’ stuff. Last year’s comedy series winner had less than a million people watch it the night that it aired (after Game of Thrones!).

Those that watch the show are intensely passionate about it, and CK is an Emmy magnet (not to mention Alda, Falco, Lange, Buscemi, etc.) so it is a real possibility. If it has the support of the writers, the directors, and the actors — and it likely will — why can’t it get slot #7?

Vinyl is some fuckin bullshit. It’s not a lock at all and if it gets in, it’s dead last. And the only reason it gets in is the Martin Scorsese/HBO factor. Fuck the writing, fuck the directing, fuck the storyline, fuck everything about it. Anyway, usual suspects like GOT, HOC, Downton Abbey will get in. I’m skeptical on Better Call Saul and Orange is the New Black. Mr. Robot will be the only new show to get in, if it gets in at all.
