Now onto one of my favorie shows of all time, and one of the greatest ever.
My gut says Mahoney but brain says Kelsey. gotta go with kelsey
Pierce. All the characters were aggravating, but he was consistently funny enough to justify it.
My vote goes to Pierce. That opening scene in the Valentine episode (where he tries to iron a pair of pants, sets the couch on fire, and faints at the sight of his own blood), is masterful. Niles was a great character. Frasier got on my nerves more often than not.
David by a mile. It was a good cast but I lost all respect for Kelsey Grammer in 2002.
David Hyde Pierce. It was a stroke of genius to create a character like Niles who could out-Frasier Frasier. Kelsey Grammer can be a very fussy actor too, which annoyed me as the series progressed. The rest of the cast lent nice support (especially John Mohoney), but this is Pierce’s to win in the end.
Yep, Pierce for me, too. I thought he layered his character with the most depth, and he was phenomenal at physical comedy.
David Hyde-Pierce was magnific as Niles. Grammer was good, too, but no one brought more laughs (and depth!) than Pierce. That scene from Valentine’s Day is one of the best pieces of acting I’ve seen.
David Hyde Pierce as Niles Crane all the way!
This is actually a really decision for me because I can’t imagine the series without any of the cast members; each was so integral to the success of the series! Although I love both Roz and Daphne, they’re predominantly peripheral characters. Choosing amongst the three male cast members is painful, but I’m going to offer a dissenting opinion and vote for Kelsey Grammer. I could have easily gone with any of them, though.
