Going just by a performance, my instinct says to go with Baldwin. The show really started to take shape once Fey realized that it was better for the Donaghy character to supplant Pete as her confidant/mentor, and Baldwin could make for a force of nature when the scene called for it (the therapy scene where he “imitates” Tracy’s parents probably being one of the bigger examples of that).

Baldwin and Fey shine the brightest, but Jordan made me laugh the most. One of the best comedy ensembles ever.

Baldwin and Fey are a perfect combination of performance and character, so wither one. Probably Fey, cause Liz Lemmon is just so bananas.

Alec was the show’s greatest performance in the early seasons, but as the show progressed, Fey and Krakowski started to really overshadow him, as they were usually given the opportunity to go even more bonkers than him. I’ll choose Fey because Liz became the most fully formed character out of all of the them, and while that can attributed to the writing, it’s also merit of Fey consistently going for broke with her performance.

Tina Fey gets my vote as the iconic Liz Lemon, with added points for Fey’s multi-faceted role as show creator, actress, producer, and writer.

Morgan made me laugh the most, Krakowski nailed the trickiest role, Baldwin is the strongest actor but all things considered wasn’t asked to do a huge variety of things too often. But it’s probably Fey for her overall work and the progressive iconic nature of her character. I think Scott Adsit made the most of his time relative to the amount of face time everyone got though. Usually no more than a peanuts C-plot to work with if he’s lucky, and always great in it.

I’ll go with Baldwin. Though him, Fey and Krakowski are each highlights of TV comedy from tha past decade. It’s not even been gone for a year, but it’s already greatly missed, especially since the best comedies on TV right now tend to veer towards “dark” and moody or aggressively cynical.

I’m going with Baldwin. His consistent work as Jack Donaghy is one of my favorite television performances of all time. Tina Fey’s showrunning, however, certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Krakowski was a riot. Her Mickey Rourke one-liners were insanely funny. She’s one of the most gifted comedic actresses out there. Tina Fey is also crazy good but I went with Krakowski because frankly there’s no one else like Jenna Maroney.

That was a tough one, honestly I feel like the main four of Fey, Baldwin, Morgan and Krakowski were all equally excellent, and each had moments where they shined brightly…

But at the end of the day, I feel like Baldwin was always the character I most looked forward to seeing.
