I’ll be alternating between Dramas and Comedies

This would’ve been pretty difficult based purely on the first few seasons, though I would’ve probably leaned toward Tobias. However, Gob really impressed me with how well he carried his focus episodes in Season 4, and Will Arnett has been consistently wonderful throughout the show’s run. He gets my vote.

I regret suggesting this. It’s too difficult.

Each characters have their moments and gags but I’m gonna go with Mr. F for having more of those moments than the other cast. *douchechills*

Ouch. So difficult. Ultimately I went with Jessica Walter. Her character was the most impactful outside of Arrested Development. Her facial expressions are the base of tons of gifs and sarcastic memes and I found out about the show because of her. Plus she’s delightful to watch and it pains me that Merritt Wever has an Emmy for a nothing role while Jessica Walter has none 🙁

Jessica “I Should Have an Emmy By Now” Walter for sure. Cross, Bateman, Arnett, Tambor and Rossi close behind

If I think about this too hard, I’ll never come to an answer… it’s too hard.  Therefore, I’m just going to go with my gut and say the first one that came to my mind: Jessica Walter.  Absolutely one of my favorite television performances!

Tony Hale by far for me. Arnett a close second. Then Cross and Walter. The emmys messed up with the acting nominations: Arnett and Walter only had one nomination? and Bateman and Tambor 2? They deserved none and other cast members should have gotten in.

I can´t believe anyone would vote for Bateman among all these great(er) characters and performances. Even for a straight man he is just so bland and boring to me…

This was soooo tough!! I have to say the four of them: Walter, Bateman, Arnett, Hale.

Well, believe it. My runner-up was Walter.

This is a tough one.  Will Arnett instantly came to mind as a standout, but I ultimately went with David Cross for being more a unique character.  Even Michael Cera was tempting me though.  Jason Bateman was always great too.  Portia de Rossi is in last place.

^ How could you not mention Jessica Walter. She gives such a standout, hilarious performance. Of all the mothers from hell, she comes up on top for me. She beats Doris Roberts and Holland Taylor any day.

And of course Walter is leading the poll.

It’s between Arnett and Walter for me. When Cross was at his best he was one of the funniest characters ever on TV, but despite a great second season his material wasn’t consistent enough. Besides, if I’m judging simply off of consistency I’d probably go for Hale before Cross as well. Arnett got great, funny material and a legit arc throughout all four seasons.
