Once again, we have a runaway winner for the Grey’s Anatomy poll, so the next one is one with a pure ensemble and no huge standouts.

    – – – – – – – – – – – –

    (1) Breaking Bad – Bryan Cranston
    (2) Arrested Development  – Jessica Walter
    (3) Grey’s Anatomy  – Sandra Oh

    Burrell > Stonestreet > Bowen > Rodriguez > O’Neill > Ferguson > Hyland > Vergara > Winter > A-E > Gould

I may have voted for Stonestreet though, just because Burrell is seeming more shticky as the show goes on.

Well, I started to watch “Modern Family” last summer – watched all four seasons in 1 week (watched the fifth season this summer) – and ranked the 6 main performances (no kids) in each seasons.

    Let me share it.

    Season One
    1. Ty Burrell
    2. Eric Stonestreet
    3. Sofia Vergara
    4. Ed O’Neill
    5. Julie Bowen
    6. Jesse Tyler Ferguson

    Season Two
    1. Eric Stonestreet
    2. Ty Burrell
    3. Julie Bowen
    4. Sofia Vergara
    5. Ed O’Neill
    6. Jesse Tyler Ferguson

    Season Three
    1. Eric Stonestreet
    2. Julie Bowen
    3. Sofia Vergara
    4. Ty Burrell
    5. Ed O’Neill
    6. Jesse Tyler Ferguson

    Season Four
    1. Eric Stonestreet
    2. Julie Bowen
    3. Ty Burrell
    4. Sofia Vergara
    5. Ed O’Neill
    6. Jesse Tyler Ferguson

    Season Five
    1. Eric Stonestreet
    2. Sofia Vergara
    3. Julie Bowen
    4. Ty Burrell
    5. Ed O’Neill
    6. Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Jesse Tyler Ferguson: Incredibly untalented and a terrible actor. He’s lucky that he’s in the USA’s most popular show and collected 5 Emmy nominations for being not funny. He deserved maybe a nomination for Season Five.

Ed O’Neill: He’s good and had nice moments – but his performance never screamed for Emmy.

Sofia Vergara: I love her, but yes, she screams a lot which is annoying sometimes. I also think that she’s underrated next to Julie Bowen. I mean even if Bowen is much better of an actress, Vergara deserves credit for being funnier.

Ty Burrell: I’m kinda tired of him. He started it as the best in cast, but nowadays he’s boring.

Julie Bowen: From being the worst, she became one of the best. She’s not as funny or interesting, but definitely earned one of her Emmys at least.

Eric Stonestreet: He’s the reason why this show is funny. People call him a gay stereotype but hey, if there is a stereotype, there are gays like him. So he’s good. He’s brilliant and I don’t get the second-in-a-row-snub.

I love the child actors, especially Sarah Hyland who should have at least one or two Emmy nominations for playing Haley by now.

I love this show, and it deserved all of its 5 wins (come at me bitches) and it’s the only show ever that I can binge-watch full season in a day!
I love Vergara too much that I vote for her, but I do think that Stonestreet is the best of the actors on MF

Not one actor is the weak link in this damn show. Everybody is so good, even Lilly. Although I’m over Rico and Nolan’s charms, they were just so awkward (not in a good way) teens this whole past season. But if I had to rank the adults, I’d say –

    Burrell > Stonestreet > Bowen > O’Neill > Vergara > Tyler-Ferguson

Burrell’s character will be the one everyone remembers after the show is over. Stonestreet had that role until Cam became a caricature in S2 and S3.

Phil Dunphy is one of the all-time great sitcom characters, in my opinion.

Torn between Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen.

In the end i’ll probably go for Ty Burrell. He is Television’s quirkiest, most lovable Dad.  He just commands attention, he commands screentime, and his scenes are always comedic and heartfelt.

Burrell is the easy standout. He’s been my favorite character since season one, and I gave him the personal win for the first three seasons. Among the kids, however, Hyland should not be discredited. She’s downright hysterical on this show now. I’ve really been surprised by her growth and I hope she finds her place in Hollywood after Modern Family ends. This past season, I nominted her and Ferguson for my personal awards. But Burrell is easily the best. When all else fails, he still makes me laugh.

Singing Natalie Imbruglia for this poll. No one really stands out. I’ll give a vote to someone who has no chance of winning.

Ty Burrell is really the only actor on Modern Family who is actually entertaining.

The Dunphys have stood out from the beginning. It’s just a matter of choosing between Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen.

It looks like it’s another runaway choice. Ty Burrell wins.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson has a very complicated character on hands while Stonestreet resorts to screaming and over-gesticulating. It became annoying and only showed how much of a limited actor he really is. He can be funny but he’s just plain offensive. Ferguson is a lot better dramatically. I chose Burrell because sometimes Bowen over-acts (and reminds me too much of my mom) otherwise I would’ve chosen her.

Hmmm. I’ll vote for Julie Bowen.

Easy decision for me: Ty Burrell.  Although I certainly have never disliked any of the characters, Phil is the only one that I always find most amusing and never irritating (unlike, say, Julie Bowen or Sofia Vergara).

Only watched the first three seasons in their entirety and a few episodes from season five. From what I saw it’s Burrell. But Bowen is the best when her plot is on point. Too bad post season one has needed her character to play more of the stereotypical harpy.
