    When asking someone what they think the best TV Mini-Series of all time is, there are a few that are rattled off, such as:

    * Rich Man, Poor Man
    * The Thorn Birds
    * War & Remembrance
    * Lonesome Dove
    * Pride & Prejudice
    * Band of Brothers
    * Angels in America
    * The Bible
    * American Horror Story

    and just about every other HBO mini-series you can name, before you land on Roots (1977), whether you’ve seen it or not. This led me to think: if Roots (or Angels in America, Band of Brothers, et. al) is the best TV Mini-Series of all time, what is the best Made for Television Film (TV Movie)?

    Here are some options:

    * The Normal Heart (2014)
    * Behind the Candelabra (2013)
    * Game Change (2012)
    * Recount (2008)
    * The Late Shift (1996)
    * Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story (1995)
    * And the Band Plays On (1993)
    * Roe vs. Wade (1989)
    * An Early Frost (1985)
    * The Burning Bed (1984)
    * The Day After (1983)
    * Sybil (1976)
    * Duel (1971)
    * Brian’s Song (1971)

    What do you think is the best TV Movie?

    My gut says “Brian’s Song” but my brain says “Recount”.

    I’m going with “Temple Grandin” as the best I’ve seen.   Quite fond of “Barbarians at the Gate” as well.

    Sorry, I can’t choose one. All are extraordinary classics and should be seen

    Behind the Candelabra was the best I’ve seen followed by Temple Grandin and The Normal Heart

    Definitely not the best, but Prayers for Bobby was the most encouraging for me.
