Let discuss the Supporting Actress nominations ….
Who are we happy got in ?
Who are we bummed got in ?
Who is now the front runners ?

    Supporting Actress in a Drama
Uzo Aduba – Orange Is the New Black
Millie Bobby Brown – Stranger Things
Ann Dowd – The Handmaid’s Tale
Chrissy Metz – This Is Us
    Thandie Newton – Westworld
Samira Wiley – The Handmaid’s Tale

    Supporting Actress in a Comedy
Vanessa Bayer – Saturday Night Live
    Anna Chlumsky – Veep
    Kathryn Hahn – Transparent
Leslie Jones – Saturday Night Live
    Judith Light – Transparent
Kate McKinnon – Saturday Night Live

Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie
    Judy Davis – Feud
Laura Dern – Big Little Lies
    Jackie Hoffman – Feud
    Regina King – American Crime
Michelle Pfeiffer – The Wizard of Lies
Shailene Woodley – Big Little Lies

I think For Comedy that Kate is the Front Runner now she is the reigning winner. I don’t see Vanessa or Leslie wining. I would love to see Kathryn win but I think her and Judith might split their votes and I guess Anna could be the Spoiler.
Sad to not see Jane and Jennifer

Drama – Well this Category is a lot different than I thought it would be . I didn’t expect that much love for Handmaidens tale (I have yet to watch ) I feel like Chrissy and Mille got nominated so that’s their reward. Uzo has two so im going with Thandie (my favorite ) for the win

Limited- Happy to see Jackie Hoffman ,Sad to not see MEW… This Has to go to Dern , She was everything.

I’m wondering how much of a factor vote splitting will be in these categories? Will it cause King to win her third consecutive?

What episodes should everyone submit ? what will give them all the best fighting chance at a win ?

    Comedy
    Will win: Kate McKinnon
    Could win: Judith Light
Should win: both Kate McKinnon and Judith Light (I’d be pleased if either of them wins; I also wouldn’t have a problem with Hahn winning)

    Drama
    Will win: Chrissy Metz
    Could win: Thandie Newton
Should win: Thandie Newton (although Chrissy Metz would be just as deserving, I loved her performance; I would also be fine with Ann Dowd winning)

    Movie/Mini
    Will win: Judy Davis
    Could win: Regina King
Should win: Judy Davis (Jackie Hoffman would also be great; between the two BLL ladies I would prefer Dern to Woodley)

I’d have to think about the episodes. I watched the shows a while ago. But here are my best guesses:

McKinnon should submit the Dave Chappelle episode, I think, Judith Light should submit “Exciting and New”, Vanessa Bayer the season finale, Leslie Jones anything – she gives the same performance in every episode, Kathryn Hahn “Life Sucks and Then You Die”, Anna Chlumsky didn’t really have a showcase

Newton has a lot of great potential submissions (maybe “The Adversary” or “Trompe L’Oeil”), Metz also has a couple of good ones (“Three Sentences”, maybe), Millie Bobby Brown I have no idea (“The Upside Down”, I guess), I haven’t yet finished “The Handmaid’s Tale”, so I’m not sure about Ann Dowd and Samira Wiley, and Aduba should submit “People Persons” (her only possible submission).

Davis should submit “Hagsploitation” or even “Pilot”, maybe even “You Mean All This Time We Could Have Been Friends?” Hoffman should submit “You Mean All This Time We Could Have Been Friends?”, Woodley should submit “You Get What You Need”, Dern “Burning Love” and I didn’t watch this season of American Crime, so I don’t know what Regina King should submit.

Gold Derby TV Awards FYC: Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life - Limited Series, Movie/Mini Actress (Lauren Graham), Movie/Mini Supp. Actress (Kelly Bishop)

So sad Rita Moreno (One Day at a Time) and Winona Ryder (Stranger Things) were snubs.

I never watched one day at a time so i cant say she should have been in, i am bummed that Jane (uks) didnt make the cut instead of bayer and Jones.

I havent seen all of handmaidens tale yet so i cant fully comment , but i didnt feel like winona was that amazing , i enjoyed her and wouldn’t have been mad had she gotten nominated but i think the biggest snub is Aubry Plaza

Underestimate Regina King’s odds of threepeating at your own peril.
