It’s because of how slow building and meditative it is.

yeah, i love it too, but i think it’s something of an acquired taste. but every season has arcs plotted out that always lead to a good or great conclusion by the end. i think it is underrated

I only think buscemi was misscasted , but, if you think straight, there aren’t many veteran actors with that status that would be able to pull it off this good, being a period piece and all. I Hope Richard Harrow will have a nice arc this season, my favorite character/actor on the show by far.

Is anyone else confused by the new advertising campaign?  Like, why did they change the logo?

Sepinwall and Feinberg have seen five episodes and say that Kelly Macdonald does not appear in any of them, Steve Buscemi is supporting and Jeffrey Wright is great but subtle.

Episode 5, what a beautiful, mesmerizing episode, the best episode since “Two Imposters”, got no words for it.

Ok so 5 episodes in and no Kelly MacDonald. Was she shooting a movie or something? They’ve stayed on other characters for a long time without being central to the A.C./Nucky plots. She’s back next week though…… but I like this season for the most part so far, although episdoes 2-4 were slow.

    ***SPOILERS***

That being said, “Erlkonig” was certainly the strongest yet this year. Eddie’s finale was haunting and so well executed, I will miss his charm a lot, and I’m glad they let the actor shine a bit before he made his exit, as he’s always been on the sidelines.

Gillian’s plight is particularly rough to watch. I’m not sure where they are going with it, but Gretchen Mol has been fantastic. She’s become the leading lady of this series (she’s still supporting obviously), but if they keep handing her great material, a nomination would be well-deserved… (she’ll have a hard time breaking into this category however, so… I don’t have high hopes for that).

I’m glad they are still giving the supporting characters some great things to do. I’ve always thought Nucky was the least intriguing character on this show. No offense to Buscemi who is obviously a fantastic actor, but the other inhabitants of “Boardwalk” are far more interesting.

“I wouldn’t put something alive in a box”, there is no other sentence to
define the conversation between Margarett and Nucky and the show, that
was a very well written moment between them.

Another good episode, the season started to pickcup!     I wonder what Luciano will do with Petruccelli.

    Loved
the scene where Nucky was opening up, I was thinking to myself, his
emmy tape for sure! Then Patricia Arquette punchs him in the mouth lol.

    Mr.
White’s is the least interesting arc on this season, in my opinion, I
didn’t like Jeffrey Wright on this so far, so not really interested in
    this.

The whole J.Edgar/Fbi thing, what was really written in
that letter?? I thought for sure Eli already had someone translate it to
him and the agent was lying and was gonna be offed right there, but I
was wrong, these writers really know what they are doing.

That was not an action packed episode, but it served some porposes to move things along very good, O’Banion is dead now, Capone is going wild. I’m very curious to see how the J.Edgar plot will develop, those are some really talented actors working on the FBI plot.   The whole thing with Jeffrey Wright’s character is just weird and doesn’t interest me at all.     Rothstein is probably trying to get to Margaret tohurt Nuck, got a feeling he’ll succeed and that will be his end.

This episode was good and while no scene was explosive they checked in on every character which was nice and the best moment of the episode that looks to set up a cool arc is Rothstein and the cold interaction with Magaret and how it seems they will be working together which would be different. I like Jeffrey Wright on the show and while he is not shouting every episode like Canavale was his chilling persona really is starting to build which can hopefully turn out great. Nothing else in the episode was memorable but still I enjoyed the episode overall.

Ye he plays the character wonderfully, but I don’t think that there is much to compare between him and Cannavale, I mean, they are two totally different characters and, at least in my opinion, Gyp Rosetti made an impression on the first second in which we saw him on screen and we knew what it was gonna be like, now having Narcisse doing the same things over and over on every episode is starting to bother me, but I’m sure that something big is about to happen because those are the kind of writers in which we can trust.

This is another great episode of the show this season with the fight scene being only the highpoint of the episode. The tension is building up this season and while no one is really giving a standout performance because the ensemble is so strong and while many of the series regulars were not featured in the episode the new cast featured this season were great especially Jeffrey Wright and Patricia Arquette. I love this show and this season is starting to become my favourite because of all teh great moments featured in every episode of the show.
