It’s coming back July 17th! If you haven’t finished season one yet, do yourself that favor.May 21, 2015 at 9:23 pm #349260
One of the best surprises… I had actually stopped watching after the first few episodes, but a few friends of mine told me to complete it and I wouldn’t be disappointed, so I eventually got around to finishing it and they were right- it’s a meditative, dark comedy that surprised me in a lot of ways, and the characters grow and change throughout the course of the first season in ways that few shows (especially animated ones) allow. I was so happy when it was picked up for a second season.May 22, 2015 at 6:28 am #349261
That’s why I mention the thing about people not having finished it. I know a lot of people bailed after the first couple of episodes and they simply don’t know what they missed. An those first episodes get sugnificantly better upon rewatch.May 22, 2015 at 12:04 pm #349262
Yeah, the first few episodes aren’t anything special, but keep going. It gets great.May 22, 2015 at 12:14 pm #349263

Definitely. I even love the Christmas special, which is actually quite brilliant in how it spoofs sitcom specials.May 22, 2015 at 1:25 pm #349264
This is the most underrated Netflix show. It would be awesome if the show were nominated for Outstanding Animated Program this year. It really deserves it.May 23, 2015 at 10:13 am #349265
I can’t wait for season 2. That was some brilliant and different stuff from all we’ve seen like , ever.July 18, 2015 at 2:19 pm #349266
let the binge start like.. NOW.July 18, 2015 at 2:24 pm #349267
“You’re telling me that Van Sant’s camp wants to recant on VanCamp? They can’t!”
This line in the first episode of season 2 KILLED me. It’s the best line I’ve heard since ‘Arrested Development’s’, “It’s a Bob Loblaw law bomb.” Can’t wait to binge the whole season later today.July 18, 2015 at 2:57 pm #349268
Yes, that was just hillarious. Also, that girl stumbling on the cable messing her face… I was just rotfl.
Also, from episode 2. “Of course, I haven’t had sex in 30 years. I hope. “
I can’t with this show. I’m just constantly laughing at those animals in the background. The writing on this show is just excellent, best comedy writing team by on tv by far!
EDIT: Episode 3, the show is firing in all cyllinders, just brilliant.
” What? The water’s only two inches deep. Well, that’s Hollywood for you. “
Sidenote: The Surfer shark. LOL.July 21, 2015 at 9:00 pm #349269
Just finished episode 7… This show is on FIRE. Episodes 3-7 are especially strong, with 4, 5 & 7 being good enough for writing Emmys. This show better get some Emmy love next year because it is blowing everything else away (sorry ‘Archer’, sorry ‘Bob’s Burgers’). Becka the chicken?! I was literally falling out of my seat laughing. And Amy Schumer’s guest starring role as Irving was great. Episode 7 is BRILLIANT. It has great comedy and drama, and the word play was just amazing in the news scenes and about Hank the hippo (“I even bought his novelty rap album, The Hank Hippopopalous Hip-Hop Hypothesis”, “I would love to take down Hippopopalous and finally topple the acropolis of monstrous hypocrisy that ensconces us”).July 22, 2015 at 9:54 am #349270
I finished the show, I don’t think I’ve seen a season of comedy and or animation that strong since, I don’t know maybe one of CYE seasons , it is just brilliant, hysterical, “Escape from L.A” should win the emmy like, now.
The number of holywood stars doing voice over is just insane.July 25, 2015 at 9:20 am #349271
Finished the second season.. It’s brilliant. ‘Escape From L.A.’ is one of the more dramatic episodes, but it’s part of what I adore about this show and the way it develops the characters and sees them face real consequences for their actions. It’s hilarious, sometimes darkly so, but it has heart, genuinely, and real moments of pathos. All of the voice actors are amazing on this show, including the guests. EMMYS PLEASE! EMMYS ALL AROUND!!July 25, 2015 at 10:06 am #349272
I literally can’t stop hearing good things about this show, so I’m looking forward to binging it! It seems to have a dark, melancholic humor which is right up my alley.July 25, 2015 at 2:42 pm #349273
Bojack horseman was my number one show of 2014 and may be my number one show of 2015. There is nothing nearly as well written in comedy right now and I would go as far to say this is a top 5 drama. This show mixes both better than any show I have ever watched. My feeling was that while season one had fewer individual episodes the season long arc felt more complete as a whole. Season two doesn’t have quite the same vision as seaosn one had as an overall arc but it was still very strong with twice as many stand out episodes as last season.
If you aren’t watching and loving this show by now you’re truly missing out on something truly special in a time when special shows are ending or getting bad.
