    These are great.

I just finished the comedy actor video, and it was fantastic, but I’m confused on why these are being released so late. Surely they will be irrelevant in 24 hours, and it seems like a missed opportunity to put them out so late. Also, most people who are going to be watching these videos so close to the Emmy ceremony are the die-hard GD users who have probably already seen the contender videos that are interspersed throughout,

Finally, although it’s an overview of the category, I would prefer a more definitive conclusion (rather than a pros and cons list of the nominees). With all of that said, the videos analyze the race like no other website, and the dramatic intros are definitely a keeper.

I too would’ve preferred a more ‘bottom line’ kind of who’s going to win conclusion… but still, good fun!

    Thankd guys!
I agree these were too late, I just had a really busy month and these were the soonest I could get them done. Hopefully I can do some for Oscars and next year’s Emmys and I get an earlire start! The fact I don’t include predictions means it will serve better as an overview of the category post Emmys too.

I viewed this as more of an overview than predictions since our slugfests were prediction heavy, but my bottom line today is:
Breaking Bad, Lewis, Danes, Louie, Louie and Dreyfuss (tempted to switch to Cranston and/or Parsons)

Don’t know what if by “Damian Lewis submited The Vest episode” you meant the same episode as Claire Danes submited “The Vest” or if you meant “The one where he almost explodes the Vest”, if it was the former, correcting, he submited “Marine One”.

Great videos, I wish we had some short scenes from each tape of the actors, but it is still pretty great.

Thanks hadlif! clips from the tapes would have been cool.

With Lewis: I meant “marine one” as in “the one where he almost explodes the vest” good catch though I think I got episode titles mixed up in my head.

Great videos, Matt. Just watched your analysis on Lead Actor in a Drama Series. I agree Lewis and Cranston are in the lead, with Spacey as a possible spoiler. I have to say that I somewhat disagree with your view on Hamm. I know Mad Men just doesn’t win acting Emmys, and Hamm will most likely not win again this year. But you said you thought he’d submitted better episodes in the past than this year. I disagree. I think “In Care Of” was Hamm’s greatest single episode performance of the entire series run (even better than “The Suitcase”). Is it enough to get him the win? Probably not. Emmy voters do like showy, over-the-top stuff. You’re correct about that. Still, I’m a big enough Don Draper fanboy (Hammboy?) to put him in first place in my predictions over Cranston and Lewis. I’m preparing myself for disappointment again.

I disagree, I don’t think “In Care Of” was better than the Suitcase, as an acting showcase for Hamm, it does not scream emmy like The Suitcase did and it can help ham also for being one of the most important moments of the series , but personally, I don’t think it was even close to his performance on “The Suitcase”.
