I really hope Poehler takes that Emmy from Dreyfus this year. Dreyfus has 4 Emmys already and Poehler has 0. Much overdue and much funnier

I’m hoping for Poehler, long overdue and her merit on the show has never declined.  I’m also in a major minority on this but McCarthy is superb and so is her submitted episode she would be my 2nd choice.  Love Louis-Dreyfuss since she was on DAY BY DAY in the late 80’s…I’ve only seen a handful of VEEP episodes that continue the love of her talent.

I’ve watched all of ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK and think the series is great and Schilling is very good, but for me I can’t support an emmy win for her like I could for the 3 mentioned above.

GIRLS  I’ve only ever seen Dunham’s submitted episodes from the first 2 seasons (maybe a couple more when I visit friends with premium cable 😉  I have not watched her submission for this year (nor Falco’s).  Nonetheless I’ve admired the writing on those GIRLS episodes much more than Dunham’s performance.  I did watch the first 2 seasons of NURSE JACKIE and enjoyed it, since I got rid of premium cable I’ve only seen a smattering and the show has declined judging what I’ve seen.  Can’t support a win for Dunham or Falco based on my limited knowledge of the past season.

Poehler just won a Golden Globe for Parks, and she has a drunk, rangey episode… could be her year, but I still think Melissa McCarthy and Edie Falco are ahead of her. Julia is of course at the top of my list.  I still think it’ll be JLD, especially since Veep has upped its nom tally this year. If love for Veep was waning, I would say maybe one of the others would have a shot, but I don’t think we’ll see any upsets in this category.

I say JLD and Schilling are neck and neck with JLD for 1st but I put Schilling in 2nd she is on a very popular show and submitted a funny episode but I am not sure they will like her as much as Julia who is a queen at this

Is this who I want to win, or who I think will win?

Luckily for me, the answer to both is the same.

I think Julia correctly chose her tape (She could’ve gone with the final episode as well) and she has MOMENTUM, like Mcconaughey (Who has failed in his submission tape). Let’s see what happens.

    Julia rightfully will win

I don’t want Poehler this year. She has nothing to do in her tape, she also looks awful in that halloween costume and that hair. Horrible pairing and not funny.

    Will win: Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Should win: Amy Poehler, Taylor Schilling or Lena Dunham.

I voted for who will win and that’s JLD. And she should win anyways.

    JLD locked this one.
Schilling has no chance and Poehler is overdue, but not enough buzz.

I hope someone besides JLD wins. My pick is Amy Poehler. I also enjoy Melissa McCarthy and Taylor Schilling (but OITNB is a drama series). I’ve never liked Nurse Jackie and I absolutely abhor and despise Girls.

    1. Amy Poelher, Parks & Recreation
    2. Melissa McCarthy, Mike & Molly
    3. Taylor Schilling, Orange Is The New Black
    4. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep
    5. Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie
    6. Lena Dunham, Girls

This category is so awful. The best submission here is Lena’s, but that is because of the writing and Andrew Rannells. Mindy Kaling and Emmy Rossum would’ve made the category better and Mindy would’ve been the challenger to JLD. But Melissa McCarthy had to sneak in for whatever reason. I can see the reason why Amy went with her episode, but it didn’t leave an impression. Taylor is a bland actress that lucked out on being the lead of a great show and this submission highlights that. Edie’s annual nominations are now offensive since most of her submissions have been non-starters. JLD wins here by default and I’m not pleased. The lead comedy races this year are abysmal save Ricky.

There has not been a better comedic performance from an actress on television than the one Dreyfus continues to wow us with. Yes, I really do believe this. Aside from the fact that she blows each of the other ladies out of the water, she chose the perfect episode for her submission. I cannot see JLD not winning. Perhaps next year there will be a new Comedy Queen, but this year, Julia is getting her third for Veep, and 5th career Emmy.
