Not exactly sure when the next season will premiere but I’m damn excited! I caught up with all the episodes and this has definitley become one of my favorite shows.
So as we all know, Dan Harmon will be coming back which is VERY exciting! Season 4 was good but it definitley lacked something. Here’s hoping Harmon can bring back the magic.
Donald Glover will also have a reduced role on the show and I’m really disappointed. Troy is one of the funniest characters on the series so it’ll be interesting to see how they compensate with a lack of Glover and the disappearance of Pierce (played by Chevy Chase).
Thoughts?August 2, 2013 at 6:27 pm #293166
I wasn’t a big fan of Season 4, other than a handful of episodes (for some reason, “Herstory of Dance” was the one that I really seemed to enjoy more than any other), so the announcement of Dan Harmon’s return has filled me with excitement, something amplified by his appearance at Comic Con.
The one sore spot is Donald Glover’s departure. I’m concerned with how the dynamic of the show will be affected by a lack of Troy, especially considering how great his relationship with Abed is. Still, even with that, I’m confident that Harmon and Chris McKenna will find a way to make his exit feel organic to the show. He’s got my trust.August 5, 2013 at 9:06 pm #293167

can’t wait for this, expecting the best for this season!August 6, 2013 at 1:32 pm #293169
I wonder if the show legacy wouldn’t be much more loved if it would end after S3, like with “Arrested Development”. Season 4 was ok-ish and I liked it. There’s hope that Chevy Chase being gone (and I usually like him) will help the show, as this combination of actor and character were bringing the show down since the start, IMO, as it is with Chang since S2.August 6, 2013 at 1:52 pm #293170
Even if it had ended with the third season I don’t think Community stacks up well against AD. The first season started off bland, then the classics began rolling out. The second season drifted from one experiment to another with not quite enough hitting the mark. The third season’s first few and last few episode did nothing for me, but the midsection was consistently entertaining. On the other hand, AD had a near perfect first two seasons. Even its fourth season I feel was more successful than Community’s. Despite the innate structural and pacing flaws there were plenty of memorable moments. I remember nothing from Community’s recent outing.September 11, 2013 at 8:46 pm #293171

I liked season 4 but it wasn’t the strongest season for them. Saying that Joel is my favorite comedian ever so I will watch it. NBC let this man host SNL already!!!!!!!!October 15, 2013 at 8:21 pm #293173October 15, 2013 at 9:31 pm #293174
Saw this earlier today, and… wow. Not the easiest of reads. Very Donald Glover, that’s for sure.October 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm #293175

Vince Gilligan is set to guest star as a “smooth-talking gold digger who somehow winds up in the middle of a fight between Abed and Annie” and Mitch Hurwitz will be “Greendale Community College’s ultimate party animal”.November 4, 2013 at 8:33 pm #293177
Best sitcom since Malcolm in the Middle. Can’t wait for it’s return, especially with Harmon returning.November 5, 2013 at 4:29 am #293178
They are seriously getting Vince Gilligan and Mitch Hurwitz? That’s kinda awesome. I always like when Community cast all these guest stars whom are not super famous but people who certain shows will recognise. eg Giancarlo Esposito, Michael K. Williams, John Michael Higgins, Malcolm McDowell, etc. I really hope Harmon coming back means it’s returning to form cos Season 4 was such a disappointment.
