I think this could be Lena Dunhams year to win because they are not going to give jld another emmy this year no matter how good she is and she gave a great performance on Saturday night live while Jim Parsons and Louis ck were the two worst hosts this year which I was surprised how bad they were because both of them have done a lot of things In a live studio audience while she has not

I highly doubt SNL will submit her, they’re probably going to submit Fey, McCarthy, and Kendrick. Regarding Actress, she has no shot in hell at winning there. It’ll be between JLD and Poehler, maybe Schilling.

The acting branch loves Veep, it’s certainly possible.

Why wouldn’t they submit Dunham she has already been an emmy nominee and she was a very good host so why wouldn’t they submit her

They have to take care of their alumni, McCarthy was nominated last year, and most agree Kendrick was one of the best female hosts of the season.

Dunham has a decent tape, but Louis-Dreyfus is unstoppable for now.

Lena Dunham would have made an excellent Emmy winner last year with “Bad Friend.” This year she could indeed be nominated in multiple categories (acting, writing, directing, & producing for “Girls”; the “SNL” guest nod would depend on who is actually submitted and level of internal competition there). Wins will be harder to get this time around, but not impossible.

I think Louis-Dreyfus is getting rubberstamped whether she has the best tape or not – they love her too much. Just like they love Jim Parsons.

That said, this was Dunham’s best year yet, and Amy Poehler has had a string of great episodes on Parks, so maybe they’ll have a fighting chance…but I doubt it.

No. If she was going to win, it would’ve been for writing the pilot.

It would have been nice to see Dunham win at least one of her several nominations these past two years; e.g. she’ll never win actress, so they could have at least thrown her a directing or writing win instead of awarding whatever random-ass episodes of MF won instead. I think she’ll remain Emmy-less when Girls’ run is over.

Do you think they might submit Washington?? The episode was a while ago but she was very well-praised in the episode and it got a decent amount of attention with her being the first African American female host in years, and she’s still a very buzzed about actress on a hit show

And was Anna Kendrick really that praised? I was EXTREMELY dissapointed with her episode, and this is coming from someone that LOVES Kendrick and was so excited when I saw she was hosting. And I feel like the general consensus is that McCarthy and Fey were not as strong as their previous hosting efforts

Anna Kendrick was amazing as “SNL” host! That’s part of what I was referring to with Lena Dunham and internal compettion for the “SNL” guest slots. Melissa McCarthy will also be in the running there, and “SNL” only submits a few contenders for multiple slots.

Even Jim Parsons did not win three years in a row

If pressed right now, I would say that she is going at least 3/3 and maybe more for Veep. And if the first two episodes are any indication, she deserves to as well.

For the past 2 years, I ranked her tape #1 in the field (Dunham was close last year), and by season, it’s not even close.
