One TV movie (NetFlix), The Fundamentals of Caring and one TV Series (Amazon) both star a relative newcomer, Craig Roberts, and he should definitely be recognized for his work by the Golden Globes.
Personally, I thought this movie was a very disappointing adaptation of the novel. The performances are the best thing about this movie, and none of them are bad, and to the film’s credit, the characterizations of these people in the novel do match up well for the most part in the film. However, the film feels very watered down, and the character of Trevor isn’t supposed to British. I know Roberts is British in real life, but is it that hard for him to do an American accent? (something many of his British counterparts can do flawlessly. Overall, I’d give it a 5 out of 10.
