Empire for Ensemble. Like, no. Too many dull interactions between the characters, except when Cookie’s involved..

I don’t have the slightest clue why Claire Danes and Jim Parsons are up there so high on the 3th spot in their respective categories with also their ensembles claiming the 5th spot. They are sooo old news people, even for the lazy SAG voters I’m surprised they’ve even made it this far. Parsons couldn’t even sneak in Emmy’s 7 person uncombined category and his show was also nowhere to be found. Remember, SAG was the only big award body that didn’t give him and his show anything? So will they be the only one who continues to stick with him after everyone; Emmys, Globes and critics have moved on? Gawd no. There is also just no way Danes gets in ahead of buzzy Wright and SAG darling Smith. Who’s talking about Homeland season 5 and Danes’scenery chewing acting anymore? And the voting has already started. You are also overstimating H.Macy’s chances. Name-check wins from shows no one in the industry aware of don’t last long. At least people like Davis, Lange and Field had that media buzz under their belt for their performances when they won their rupperstamped awards. Macy doesn’t have anything. He is far from being the best thing about his own show. And Empire is so happening. If there is any branch in the industry that wouldn’t resist to go for a soap opera,it is acting branch. We know they love their guilty pleasures. And Empire also happened to be have both critical support and a famous cast. Remember ten years ago when G.Anatomy didn’t get a Drama Series nom for its first half season at the Emmys when it premiered in winter just like Empire and only got one Acting nom for its breakout star(Sandra Oh) and she went on to win SAG beating out other shows leads thanks to the popularity of her show? The same will happen to P.Henson this year with Terrence also being nominated(a la Patrick Dempsey) The cast also will be nominated but will lose to GoT, just like how Grey’s lost to another cultural phenomenon fantasy, Lost because it was too big to be ignored that year. But I can definitely see Empire winning it next year if it continues to build momentum like Grey’s did. And I guess they also need one SuperBowl/Bomb episode to make their case even stronger, lol.

They’re just terrible enough to be the actual nominees.

Please. Terence Howard is not getting nominated over Johnathan Banks, Kevin Spacey, Kyle Chandler, Peter Dinklage, or Bob Odekirk. With how horribly recieved the current season of Empire is being, it’ll be lucky to get an ensemble nod, which I don’t think it will. The total Emmy shutout in all the main categories (except for Taraji, who is a lock to be nominated at both the Globes and Sag) I think shows just how little the industry cares for it.

Claire Danes and Jim Parsons. What the actual fuck? Who is talking about Homeland anymore besides its fanbase? I’m so over Crazy Carrie that it’s not even funny. And Sheldon gets worse and more grating as each episode goes by of that awful fucking “comedy”. I was thanking Jesus and Moses and God and all of the angels in the sky for snubbing it from the Emmy’s.

Who is talking about any show besides their fanbase?

Im not sure Mad Men can sneak back in. It might be forgotten. I also think we’re underestimating Lena Headey and the ensemble from Bloodline.

I don’t know what RT is watching, but this season of Empire shouldn’t be higher than 60%.

I wish Uzo would get snubbed, but she won’t. Taryn Manning deserves her spot.

I noticed most users have Hamm getting nominated for Globe and SAG.

    Why?

I’m confident one female performer from GoT will make the cut considering the amount of love it holds now on the industry but I can’t decide who. Clarke has the alphabetical advantage and she still plays by far the most popular character on the show.
Even the people who doesn’t watch the show must have heard about Khaleesi at some point. If that role were played by some little known American actress that person would have dominated the award shows, it suddenly became a feminism icon. And people, SAG aren’t industry. It’s a pure popularity contest. For determining the TV nominations commitee, every year they just randomly choose 2.000 members from their 120.000 member union and ask them to vote for whomever they like and the result is always shitty. That’s why Empire can get in even if it weren’t a critical success. What critics were raving about Modern Family while it kept winning 4 consecutive awards here? Movie section is different. Only the people who are either past Emmy/SAG/GG nominees or AMPAS voters can vote for Motion Picture categories hence they matter so much in the Oscar race.
As for Headey, she has that buzz from Walk of Shame but her character is SO despicable that I’m not sure is there anyone in the union really roots for Cersei even if we assume they love GoT. She is also a British no one in America probably doesn’t know/has worked with. Anti-hero and badass roles only win if they’re played by men, when the women gets to play them they get labeled as ‘bitchy’. Remember the only award Anna Gunn ever won was her two Emmys which were determined by blue ribbon panels? She also played a despicable character on an acclaimed show and had the material to back it up, but she sucked at winning anything that was determined by popularity vote. (She couldn’t even win a Critics’ Choice & Saturn or OFTA award despite being nominated endless times and all of those groups LOVED Breaking Bad. I know those are terrible examples when we comment on really important award shows but my point was that these are humans voting for other humans. And those humans do not feel so enthusiastic about voting divisive roles even if the performance is perfect.)
