SPOILERS for the show, suffice it to say

Killing off characters is all well and good. Often it serves a story purpose, but “Game of Thrones” does it so often that I feel it doesn’t always serve enough of a purpose. It sometimes feel like a “screw you for caring.”

So while Jon Snow was a bummer, I feel like he got an arc, played his part, and served a purpose (I know there are theories about whether he actually will be resurrected, but I avoid speculation with this show the same way I did with “Lost”). The deaths that annoy me are the ones that cut off a storyline midstream.

So my choice for dead character to resurrect would be Oberyn Martell. I think he was the most charismatic character besides Tyrion Lannister, sympathetic without being weak, an LGBT character who could hold his own (unlike quickly killed Renly, or Loras, who would dissolve into a puddle if Cersei glanced at him). Then he died, and none of the story development that has happened since has been worth losing him.

Who would you most like to bring back?

I don’t actually know if Stannis is or isn’t dead, if he is, that’s someone worth bringing back, also, Tywin Lannister.

Old Nan (but the actress died). I’ll settle for a prequel series.

Tywin Lannister and Oberyn. And (I don’t know if they are REALLY dead) Stannis and Jon.

    Ned Stark and Catelyn Stark
Jon Snow if he is dead
Robb Stark and Renly Baratheon for the occasional eye candy

Khal Drogo again. He brought so much out of Emilia Clarke. I would love to see more emotional arcs and action arcs for Dany with him returning.

Hands down, Oberyn Martell. He had the charisma and presence to actually become the closest thing to a lead since Ned Stark and Jon Snow. He’s the one character that I wish had been kept alive for the remainder of the series.

Everyone went crazy when Catelyn Stark wasn’t resurrected at the end of season 4. I haven’t the read books, but whatever magic potion/spell/curse was bringing her back to life should be put in place for Martell.

There was still more to do with Jon Snow, so he gets my vote.
