Definitely not Thrilled, because they made some big errors, but simply because they weren’t entirely predictable, I would have to say that I’m happy.

Sometimes I wonder how much of these shows that are nominated are actually watched by the folks around here.  Looking over the series that recieved at least one major nomination I only have watched:

Orange Is the New Black, Modern Family,The Big Bang Therory, Mom, Mike & Molly, Parks & Recreation, True Detective, Fargo, American Horror Story: Coven,  Downton Abbey, Breaking Bad

and only a few episodes of Saturday Night Live, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Scandal (only cause my bf watches it),  House of Cards, Veep, Louie.

That’s not a lot… so it makes me wonder about the people who have moaned about shows like Mike & Molly and Big Bang over the last couple of years.  Do they still actually watch it???  I know I lost favor with Modern Family over the last 2 seasons yet still watch it, but I can’t help but think old feelings against Melissa McCarthy are what’s being talked about.  I love her and the whole show, she gives a first rate performance.  I’m not accusing anyone of anything, maybe everyone that hates the Downton Abbey love actually do watch it simply because they know it will get Emmy attention.

I’m pretty happy with the nominations considering I can’t really judge the entire lot.

I’m not happy about The Good Wife series snub. Like not at all. And there are so many other amazing men that deserved a nomination for Best Actor Comedy over Ricky and even the normal nominees like Cheadle and LeBlanc. Also Silicon Valley in Best Comedy and writing is a joke. If Parks and Rec can’t get in, Silicon Valley sure as hell doesn’t deserve to be in there. I also like that they didn’t nominate in Guest Octavia Spencer “Mom”, Nathan Lane “The Good Wife”, Carrie Preston “The Good Wife”, and the always snubbed Andrew Rannells “Girls”.

I’m happy, I guess. The only snub that baffles me is Tatiana Maslany. Even with The Good Wife…the fact that Julianna Margulies and, especially, Josh Charles got nominated again almost makes me happy enough (even though it would have been great seeing the show itself get nominated).

But the good outweighs the bad, esp. in the Comedy categories.

There is simply too much randomness to be entirely happy.

I don’t even get upset about “snubs” Like Tatiana Maslany or The Americans because it’s obvious voters either don’t watch those shows or just don’t like them.

What upsets me is when they claim to watch Game of Thrones to the point they give it 19 nominations but don’t nominate Pedro Pascal.  Makes me question if they even watched it to begin with.  Or nominate Christina Hendricks from a show they allegedly watched when she had little to do this season.  They allegedly watched Scandal yet didn’t notice Bellamy Young?

I also think it maybe time to add a category for network tv Drama to compete.  If The Good Wife couldn’t get in for that season than no network TV Drama can compete with Cable.  I mean even in Comedy why not try to encourage Network TV by giving Brooklyn Nine Nine some support over Silicon Valley?  I mean really.  ANd they wonder why network TV has given up and is airing 20 reality shows a night.

For the most part i am happy i guess. I’m glad Game of Thrones got the most nominations but upset that Clarke and Pascal got snubbed. I also am upset about the Maslany snub. And there was way too much love for Silicon Valley

I’m happy with the comedy catagories. With Sofia Vergara being “snubbed”. But I am upset that The Big Bang Theory was nominated, I feel like they could have gone with a better show, (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation, Louie, Girls, and mostly every other comedy on TV). But thats the only thing I’m upset about. On the other hand I’m more upset on the drama side, with Dean Norris, The Good Wife, and Tatina Maslani (I probably spelled that wrong) being snubbed

Every year there is something to complain about but overall I think they were fine. I mean yes I am upset that Tatiana Maslany was snubbed but in the end everyone knew how hard it was going to be to get in anyways. There are a lot of interesting choices to be happy about.

    1. The voters clearly watched and loved OITNB
    2. Veep is finally getting more recognition
    3. Even though Bellamy Young was snubbed Burton and Morton made it in for Scandal.
    4. Even though it was left out for drama series The Good Wife received a lot of nominations for its actors
    5. The actors branch is trying to honor other supporting performances besides those from Modern Family
    6. Homeland was almost completely forgotten
