I for one think that the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special “The Day of the Doctor” should be considered a contender for Best TV Movie, Best Lead Actor in a TV Movie for Matt Smith, & Best Supporting Actor in a TV Movie for David Tennant & John Hurt.
In the 50 long years of Doctor Who, the series has never been nominated once, I think it’s time that Doctor Who gets it’s overdue Emmy. Who’s with me?
Because it is a British show apparently without ties to any American production company, Doctor Who has been ineligible for the Emmys. It is eligible for International Emmys, but it has never been nominated there either.
So are Downton Abby, Luther, & Sherlock and they get nominated.
Any show that’s on BBC America is illegible.
Downton Abbey and Sherlock are co-produced by PBS. I am not sure why Luther is eligible, but it must be something similar.
I believe Luther is strictly produced by the BBC.
Do you know how it qualifies then?
No clue. The Hour didn’t get ties to an American production until its second season, but its first was Emmy eligibe. Maybe BBC can do whatever the hell they like? You’ll get to the bottom of this Riley ’cause that what you do.
