The show comes back on 10/23 on ABC.
This was an unexpected gem from last season’s “Year of the Women” for me. Krysten Ritter is a riot and I absolutely ADORE Dreama Walker in this role.October 17, 2012 at 8:14 pm #264318
I love this show, and I hope they can get away with the batshit crazy tone of last season’s. It’s truly ballsy in every sense.October 18, 2012 at 6:54 am #264319
Love this show. Funniest show on TV hands down.October 18, 2012 at 7:01 am #264320
This show never failed to make me laugh last season. It was completely frenzied and out there, and I loved that about it. Ritter and Walker were perfectly cast. It would have been easy to make June a no fun wet blanket, but Dreama walks the line perfectly. Ritter is genius in this. And then there is Dawson, JVdB is great! I can’t wait 🙂October 27, 2012 at 6:23 pm #264321
Nice to have the gang back (Ritter, van Der Beek, and Walker), but this episode was all over the place and tried way too hard when it didn’t have to. The “reunion” scenes were fun (and of course all the former cast hates James), and I did get a kick out of seeing Zach Morris and Dawson Leery sitting across from each other in a scene together. Hope that this was just a blip and the upcoming episodes are more focused than this one was.
Grade for “A Reunion . . . “: B-October 29, 2012 at 6:30 pm #264322
one of my favorite showsOctober 29, 2012 at 6:45 pm #264323
The episode was great. Kind of exciting when a show is so batshit crazy that a character just randomly starts shooting trank dards at the everyone she sees and ends with a John Woo homage. They go for broke everytime, you gotta love that.October 30, 2012 at 10:37 am #264324
SEASON TWO, EPISODE TWO: “Love and Monsters…”
June tries to stop Chloe from playing elaborate tricks on Halloween. Meanwhile, James throws a “positivity” party to combat his fear of Halloween.
Discuss.October 30, 2012 at 8:10 pm #264325
OK, the back and forth between Chloe and the guy was hilarious, and dare I say Community-esque?October 30, 2012 at 8:39 pm #264326
Due to Hurricane Sandy knocking out my cable I didn’t get to see this weeks episode. Will watch tomorrow online!October 31, 2012 at 5:29 am #264327
Favorite part of this episode was Chloe and the bumblebee: “Girlfriend was famished.”October 31, 2012 at 9:20 am #264328
Just the random weirdness of this show makes me laugh and smile. My least favorite part was the plus for Happy Endings. I hate that show so I pretend that in my world it doesn’t exist. They didn’t help me out on that last night. haha (yes, I know I’m in a very tiny minority on that one. But my best friend and his boyfriend agree with me so I’m fine with it!)October 31, 2012 at 9:33 am #264329
That was a great episode, and certainly “Community”-esque, I agree. I think doing a Halloween episode about chick flicks is a very clever idea, mixing the crazyness of the show with the beats of a rom-com, and surprisingly adding some layers to the Chloe character and pulling off a big character development and realization for Mark.
You can see this show getting stronger this season, they seemed to have mastered the tone and are pushing themselves more on the writing. Right now, no other comedy show is as ballsy as this one, and I expected great things for this season based on the first 2 episodes.October 31, 2012 at 1:08 pm #264330
These eps have been solid, but something has been off. The jokes aren’t really landing for me, despite Dreama and Krysten trying to make it work.
