Looking back at previous lists of nominees and I noticed that in the past 7 years there have been many double nominees from the same Miniseries or Movie nominated in Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress in a Miniseries or Movie.

Will this tradition continue this year? Who would it be if it does?

    2014:
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie:
    – Martin Freeman (Fargo)
    – Billy Bob Thornton (Fargo)

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie:
    – Jessica Lange (American Horror Story: Coven) – winner
    – Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story: Coven)

    2013:
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie:
    – Matt Damon (Behind the Candelabra)
    – Michael Douglas (Behind the Candelabra) – winner

    2012:
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie:
    – Kevin Costner (Hatfields & McCoys) – winner
    – Bill Paxton (Hatfields & McCoys)

    2011:
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie:
    – Greg Kinnear (The Kennedys)
    – Barry Pepper (The Kennedys) – winner

    2010:
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie:
    – Dennis Quaid (The Special Relationship)
    – Michael Sheen (The Special Relationship)

    2009:
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie:
    – Drew Barrymore (Grey Gardens)
    – Jessica Lange (Grey Gardens) – winner

    2008:
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie:

Looking at 2015 we could see:

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie:

    – The Slap (Zachary Quinto & Peter Sarsgaard)

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie:
    – The Slap (Melissa George, Thandie Newton or Uma Thurman)

Although judging by the reviews here on GoldDerby this seems unlikely (I haven’t seen it). Which is a shame, as an Australian I was really interested to see how the novel and Australian Miniseries would be adapted to American audiences. I really enjoyed the Australian Miniseries!

Are there any other contenders from the same Miniseries or Movie?

Yeah I don’t thin The Slap is getting any nominations acting wise. If it does it would be in a supporting category. It doesn’t look like that will happen this year with Damien Lewis in the Supporting category now

Texas Rising might do this.  They have a massive cast of recognizable faces and we know little about the show.
