Joining me in our new slugfest are Gold Derby editors Daniel Montgomery, Matt Noble, Charles Bright and Ralph Galvan. What shows and stars will win in all the top TV categories at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards?

I wouldn’t count out The Affair. It could so pull a Brooklyn Nine Nine and get an acting win and series. But I do think House of Cards will win. I agree that if Bill wins these voters aren’t watching and just give names awards instead of performances

I can absolutely see Uzo Aduba winning the Golden Globe, as she really does have all of the traits that the Globes like to award!

I think Ralph is crazy to predict her to win SAG, though! This is the same group that gave Alec Baldwin 7 consecutive wins for 30 Rock and Betty White two consecutive wins for Hot In Cleveland. There’s no way they only awards Julia Louis-Dreyfus once for Veep, especially since they have such a strong track record in the Comedy acting categories to recrown the defending champs. I think our focus on the Emmy Awards makes it easy to forget that JLD has only won one SAG for Veep, and actress who they clearly loved for her performance in Seinfeld and someone that they haven’t awarded as much as Emmy, i.e. they’re finally “catching up,” to borrow the phrase from the slugfest. Sorry, Ralph! I will give you major kudos if Uzo actually wins and you saw it coming from this early vantage point, but SAG history clearly points against it.
