I just finished the 5th season of Weeds which is sadly Elizabeth Perkins last season on Weeds.
In all the reviews I’ve read, her performance was always the one being singled out so I was wondering was she ever considered a frontrunner to win Best Comedy Supporting Actress at the Emmys (she was nominated in 2006,2007,2009) and/or the Golden Globe for Supporting TV Actress?
As far as I remember, she was early favorite in 2007, but then she ended up f**king her submission not sending the episode that she asks Nancy to be her friend.
In 2006 I don’t think she had any chance.
And in 2009, I believe Krakowski was the front-runner with ”The Ones”
She reminds me of Kim Catrall in many ways. But I particular for being emmy-less for a great television role…
The Emmy’s have been getting the supporting comedy actress category wrong for years now. Perkins totally should have won at least once. It sucks that she and Krakowski never won.
She was a standout in the first three seasons, with the second being her best. She should have won. Same goes for Parker.
The show never used her enough, but she was fantastic. I thought she could have won for season 5 (because she was showcased so much), but then she was snubbed.
That proved to be her last season, and I never watched the show again (season 5 was awful other than her).
Never really thought much of her role. From the jump they really had no clue what to do with that character.
Perkins lost in large part because she was awful in choosing submissions. The same was true about MLP.
