James Sapder will take Hugh Bonneville or Jeff Daniels spot or maybe even Kevin Spacey if there’s a huge backlash for season 2 of House of Cards. Damian Lewis could even get moved down to supporting. It’s crazy how the two AMC guys seem to be the only 2 locks for next year and it’s their final seasons. It’s really going to be an end of an era when Mad Men and Breaking Bad are gone.

James Spader is not going to be a player in the race next year at all.  I expect The Blacklist to be a solid hit but with mediocre-to-ok reviews.  Not to mention the fact that every nominee from last year is coming back and we will have several new contenders in Drama Actor from cable- Liev Schreiber, Michael Sheen, Demian Bichir, maybe Kyle Chandler if The Vatican airs this season, same deal for Lee Pace and Jamie Bell if Halt and Catch Fire and Turn air this year.

Orange Is the New Black has the reviews… it’s up to Netflix to campaign and generate buzz a year from now.

Margo Martindale is lead on The Millers, and so probably will be Minnie Driver in About a Boy.

Critics seem to be responding well to Hostages. Maybe Toni Collete becomes a big factor next year in Drama Actress.

Mark Strong is a solid possibility as well with Low Winter Sun.

And if it premieres before the eligibility period ends, that Soderbergh/Clive Owen show on Cinemax could be a major player.

Marcia Gay Harden has a supporting role in abc’s comedy Trophy Wife.

Hostages could be this year’s Last Resort. Good premise, but not as a tv series with multiple seasons.

Will Fox consider its new Animation Domination HD block a failure if they can’t get Axe Cop! a nomination for short-format animation?

Speaking of that show, I wonder if somebody will submit Nick Offerman for Voiceover from that series, in an attempt to get him a “consolation prize Emmy” after years of not even being nominated for Parks & Recreation?

Marcia Gay Harden has a supporting role in abc’s comedy Trophy Wife.

It would be fun seeing her win an Emmy, granted that she’s deserving, of course. To be one of the most underrated actresses of our time yet have an Oscar, Tony and then an Emmy would be quite the accomplishment. She’ll already be eligible in Guest for The Newsroom.

Marcia Gay Harden has done a few failed pilots over the years. She finally has a regular role on TV series, but it doesn’t look promising to me. She deserves a cable drama.

I’m guessing with Robin Williams’ legendary status in the Business, he will pull of multiple Emmy wins for his role in The Crazy Ones. A la Alec Baldwin in 30 Rock or to a lesser extent Helen Hunt in Mad About You. I can see Williams winning three or four times in a row for this performance regardless of its reception.

I don’t think Williams is in a position to win multiple Emmys. His schtick has both lovers and haters nowadays. And he’ll be facing Michael j. Fox, who is actually a much bigger Emmy darling than Williams. How he does in the Emmys will totally depend on reception of the show, which can vary a lot. Fox on the other hand seems very possible.

I disagree. In a comedy series, I’d have to give the edge to Mr. Williams
