Riley, when the others in the slugfest were saying maybe Atlanta can get nominated I was waiting for you to slam the facts in there face but I didn’t get that and I’m so dissapointed.
I NEED you in a drama slugfest ASAP so you can tell them how crazy they are for predicting This is Us to win.July 6, 2017 at 7:29 pm #1202144001
Tony took care of slamming This is Us in the drama video that went up a few days ago. Charlie said in ours that he was surprised that Atlanta had been embraced as it had, but he did acknowledge that it had been embraced.July 6, 2017 at 7:33 pm #1202144004
I was referring to the end when they were saying “well if Atlanta is snubbed it’ll seem so oubvious because of this this and this”. And other stuff in that manner. And that’s not a direct quote. They never directly wrote off Atlanta, but some of the stuff they said seemed Like they were discounting it.July 7, 2017 at 5:46 am #1202144300

Ignoring The Good Place, no doubt. Keep discounting their chances st your peril. Cpomedy, Actor and Actress are most certainly doable.July 7, 2017 at 8:08 am #1202144374
I really liked when Riley talked about the old rules of the Emmys not applying anymore. The overhaul of the members in the academy to be more inclusive throws most of the “emmy bait” arguments out with winners like Tatiana Maslany and Rami Malek. Cult shows rule the emmys, popular shows are being left behind.July 7, 2017 at 9:15 am #1202144459

I took out Bates and put in Gugu Mbatha-Raw because of you. It seems more and more obvious that she is getting in.
You better be right about this Riley.July 7, 2017 at 9:52 am #1202144479
I’ve also (probably madly) left out Bates but I’ve put Winstead in her place. I really like the argument of Winstead getting all the Fargo votes even though she isn’t the name of some of the other contenders. Perhaps even more madly I’ve left Paulson in. Just got a feeling that all the good will that built for her last year is going to help her sustain her nomination here. I also have a lingering doubt that AHS is actually going to collapse just because unlike some other shows we know that they’ve watched and liked it in the past so there’s always the possibility that voters will just continue checking it off when they can.July 7, 2017 at 10:56 am #1202144588
Discount and discredit “This Is Us” to your peril. It’s going to break established conventions this year and score a clearly needed win for the networks.August 9, 2017 at 9:49 pm #1202180764

Great slugfest. It made me really rethink my predictions but For now I’m still going with BCS for writing and Stranger Things in directingAugust 11, 2017 at 8:26 pm #1202182732
if its strictly about the quality of direction it should be between Westworld, Stranger Things and The Crown.August 12, 2017 at 2:02 am #1202182994
Right now I have Stranger Things for directing and Handmaid’s tale for writing, but this slugfest has me really worried about underestimating the Crown in either category and BCS in writing.
I’m thinking a split between drama writing and directing feels probable. We saw True Detective win directing (very deservedly) just a few years ago even though Breaking Bad was winning everything else, and no show feels primed for a GoT style sweep
