    Hi Everyone:

This may sound like a stupid question but perhaps someone can answer it for me. Every year at the Emmys when the awards for Best Comedy and Drama Series are handed out you always see the whole entourage of the winning show’s nominated Producers, Executive Producers etc. head up on stage however there is only one Emmy statuette present for the group. Do each of the nominees for the winning show get there own individual trophy a week or two after the ceremony or does everyone have to share the one trophy? Again I apologize if this comes across as a stupid question.

I hope everyone is doing well.

    From the rulebook:
“Emmy(s) to producer(s) whose specific screen credit is Executive Producer, Co-Executive Producer, Supervising Producer, Producer or Produced by, and whose functions support those credits”
There is a limit of 11 for comedy series, 10 for drama series, 5 for limited series, 5 for movie, 7 for variety series, and 5 for variety special, 5 for special class program (including the host, if it is an awards show or other “event”).
Supposedly, they enforce a “no vanity producer credit” rule as well.

Animated program has a similar rule, presumably after 2001 when The Simpsons won and had 35 people get Emmys; 14 producers, 4 writers, and 3 directors.

I wonder why comedy gets an extra producer

Wow. Didn’t know that. Cool rule, though it may get tacky. No more Brad Pitts lol.

Among my favourite pieces of Emmy trivia is that they gave an honorary award to the statuette designer at the very first ceremony.

There is a limit of 11 for comedy series, 10 for drama series, 5 for limited series, 5 for movie, 7 for variety series, and 5 for variety special, 5 for special class program (including the host, if it is an awards show or other “event”).

This is one of those rules that will inevitably be removed from the rulebook eventually as they never follow it.

Supposedly, they enforce a “no vanity producer credit” rule as well.

They are super lax about this though. I have only ever seen one vanity producer denied the nomination: Michael C. Hall for Dexter. Again, not even really sure why it is still in the rulebook.
